Giles, am I too late in asking to reserve a size 30?
-
no problem Giles, my fault for not jumping on it sooner. So next Thursday there's an opportunity if I can put it in the cart and checkout fast enough… haha
-
woohoo, just picked up a 30 at SELA
-
Giles,
I picked them up at the store during my lunch break, I was nervous about waiting… I missed meeting you in person by 2 hours!!
I must say, these are seriously gnarly... I'm very tempted to start breaking these in right away, but I'm dedicated to my 301s 07bk's for the time being (which I love).

Ah, those are beautiful. I had the opportunity to see these in person, and they are even nicer in person. One surprising thing was how soft and pliable the denim had become, definitely a well worn pair for sure.
-
i guess you could try treating it with some obenaufs or similar and see if it will soften up some :-\

Is it recommended to straight up boil your jeans? I'd think that would be bad for your leather tag??? I always just give jeans a soak as hot as the tap will go…
-
as far as im aware your never supposed to go boiling hot, there was a thread about this on SUFU, as a rule dont boil your jeans, steaming hot works the best for me

I'm really curious about your thoughts on sam 24 / ih 23…keep us posted
The only thing going for the Samurai 24 is their nice color. They are very nice dont get me wrong, but they lack this "je ne sais quoi" that the IH 23 have in terms of silkiness of the fabric and overall mystical magic if you see what I mean (getting spiritual here!!!). The Samurai24 are very very stiff and feel a bit like sand paper compared to the IH. I like both cuts.

Yeah I know I’m bloody stupid. Wanted maximum shrinkage but guess they will stretch where they was anyway. I remember now one of Giles customers had same problem by accidentally getting his SR in to tumble dryer. Patch is hard as wood and lost ¼ of size, don’t think any oil will help.
