What are these like for walking in?
I covered about 10 miles / 16 km today, and that's not too uncommon an occurrence. So something reasonably comfortable is good.
while I'm (atm, missing any long term experience) the wrong owner to answer this, they feel comfortable and I could imagine…. but...
I believe that a pair of Foot Patrol's would be the better option... @Graeme

^ definitely!
I own both (Viberg Eng. & Foot Patrols) … and I would NEVER walk more than 5 miles in Engineers .. FP's - maybe ?
I think, considering such distances, I would tend to sport shoes. -
Thanks @rocket and @Finkster. I figured that Engineers wouldn't be that friendly to walking any distance, but thought that I'd ask first.
I was wearing my Red Wings today, and covered a fair distance in them. Provided the boots fit and are reasonably comfortable I can cope. Something like a pair of Foot Patrols would be fine.

I walked so many kilometers in my various Engineers with Jessy over mud, dirt, in Rain, snow, in 30 degree Celsius weather, anything. Never had a Problem myself but i need rough boots for us and I don't baby them, of course I care but i love to rock em. But thats me and my dwag, in fact i Love wearing all my Boots but the viberg Engineers I had from VMC took a lot of abuse and they still going strong like the first day. Also whats different in engineers is the walking style compared to laceups, so if you are more into walking like walking I'd say go with a lace up.
I don't own these wildones but having the vibergxvmc one I can say that their engineers make some real fun. And the IH specced ones are some beautiful ones with a great profile.

If you have the other 6 months to wear pants I'd say it's worth it….. Although as much walking as it sounds like you do may not be ideal. I've only been wearing mine a few days now so they haven't even broken in yet, but I can tell they will be molding to my feet quite nicely.
@davito mentioned it above I think, and I agree, they do walk a bit different than say a regular lace up boot so that's definitely worth considering.
At the end of the day you are getting an incredibly well made boot for a steal of a deal. Not to mention they look bada$$!

Am I crazy for ordering another pair?
@BloodnThunder I figure as long as you can get your foot in, and they aren't painful, you should be good.
Oh hell no, if you like them get em

Ordered and arriving Monday!
The EE-width is perfect with thicker socks, and the D-width (on order) should be perfect with thin socks.
One of my favorite details of this boot is the Vibram 705 sole, and how Viberg put in a "half-slip" to keep the sole a constant thickness. When other manufacturers use a 705 sole, there's often a thin area in front of the heel, shown below. Not so with the Vibergs.
@rocket Thanks!!! Looks good with the shorts. I don't have enough steez to wear them like that, though.

dude, I was sure that at least one would be up for this look, …. not going to wear this in public...
Dont blame you lol
