Watches - another OCD problem

@Broark doesn't it bother you that when you wear your watch on the right arm, the crown just doesn't feel right? gotta say that pam111 sandwich dial is a beauty. so is the grand lange.
-
@louisbosco It can be annoying, but being left handed I don't have many options! I could've gone with one of the left handed Panerais but they were sold out in SG at the time…
-
@Broark ahh. fair enough. you bought them in SG? are they cheaper for you? by any chance are you referring to the destro?

Ben, those grand seikos look gorgeous. I've not seen one in person, but all the pics make them look like a great choice.
I was considering the SBGJ001 for a while. The hi-beat movement really intrigues me, the dial looks amazing, and the polishing on the grand-seikos really looks top notch.
Ultimately I wanted to be able to try something on and have the dealer be close to me, so seiko was out. I don't think i've lost the lust, however, so maybe one day still…
-
Thanks quoise! Yeah honestly it seems like grand seikos would be up everyone's alley here, made I Japan and supposed to be an incredible deal for the finishing. Anyone that has one seems to think its at least as good as much more expensive brands - Rolex, etc.
Also love the design in the one I've posted, I even like the repetitive grand seiko… Reminds me of flat head!
That watch looks great too, ever thought of the snowflake?
There's a GS AD near me, I really need to go check it out and take some pics!
-
I have owned numerous Rolex and my Snowflake schools them in fit and finish. One of the finest watches I've had the pleasure of owning.
-
Also wanted to throw in that my GS is stealthy. Only people who know watches recognize it. This is the opposite of the high polish Breitling or yellow gold President. Personally I like that.
-
I'm pretty certain that my tastes are becoming increasingly obtuse, but I rather like the Grand Seiko quartz watches.
The picture's stolen from a piece on Grand Seiko at aBlogToWatch.
-
I respect your enthusiasm and knowledge, Graeme. I also think you have a great, quirky aesthetic sense. So if you like GS quartz watches, I say go with it. You could hardly find quartz watches more worthy of respect, that's for certain.
-
I'm with you 100% on this one. Really superb.

Anyone here ever messed with Zenith watches? I could see the Elite Captain Central Second appealing to those who dig Grand Seiko. I'm a big fan of the El Primero Striking 10th as well.
