Luggage Bags and Packs
-
Outlier have got together with Boreas to do a collaboration. It's based around their Ultrahigh duffle, which was a superlight travel bag, but Boreas have contributed their Supertramp frame and another, small backpack. It looks an interesting system, particularly as it uses Cuben fibre to keep the weight down.
The whole bundle comes in at a reassuringly expensive $495, and you can pick it up direct from Outlier. If I had the spare cash, and needed another bag, I'd be tempted.
Carryology have a piece on it, along with a review of the original Ultrahigh duffle.

I love them both. I owe you for the recon on the Finsterre, it is perfect for my travel needs.

Over on Carryology.
"A Canadian Tuxedo is one thing, but denim-on-denim-on-denim? Now that’s going too far. Seriously though, I don’t wear this bag if I’m wearing jeans, it’s just too much."
It's the G Surplus by ro bags. If you don't have enough denim in your life, it's currently on sale at $145.

I saw that the other day, and it does look nice. They also mentioned on their blog that variants are coming.
_Firstly, we are currently designing and testing a new set of shoulder straps that will initially be rolled out with a future release of the Amhara as an alternative option. These will be canvas based and will be designed for users who need certain performance features, including space for a sternum strap. We hope this will be suitable for people who run, motorcycle or walk great distances with heavy weights in their bags.
Further ahead, we have a number of new Amhara variants in planning that will eventually form a range of backpacks, altogether offering a wide variety of use cases, some with distinct specialisations, but all based on the Amhara core. Look out for the first of these to pop up during sometime next year._

the GR2 is the shit…love it!
so thanks for the pics my friend @Snowy
the gf got me a sandqvist backpack for everyday use as a part of my Christmas present. pretty simple and clear looking (all black everything), not too much tamtam and also pretty functional imo. there's also an extra compartment on the inside, to fit a 15" MacBook Pro, so for your everyday usage, when taking the bike and drive around the city, it's pretty perfect imo.…though I'm still looking for a GR1 or GR2 for traveling ^^
