IH-9634Z - 21oz Non-Fade Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Superblack

Giles, do you know what differences in the denim/dye produce a softer hand on these jeans?
Seek and you will find…..Answer from Haraki:
They are same denim but different finish applied. Iron Heart used to have problem with old fabric because the stiffness which created unexpected creases on the jeans and sometimes the creases caused ripping. So they changed the finishing to current finish that make look almost same but softer. That was a good modification for Japanese customers.

Very interesting Giles. So the new SuperBlack material must be more durable. Seems counter-intuitive but Haraki don't lie.

Thanks a heap for the technical explanation Giles, I love it. Half the reason IH appeals is that it's seemingly a requirement that one geek's out, as it were. And Doug, thank you for taking denim's 'crispy' qaulity to a whole 'nother level. Lol.

Anyone with this version have any updates on how the denim differs from the OG IH-9634? Thanks!

The 9634Z is displayed with a lanyard /key rein in your webstore. Does this come with the pants or is it just for the pictures? And are the 22 oz post-soak (hence the label says 21 oz in the pictures)?

Thanks for the info. The lanyard is a nice gimmick! Maybe you should put that on the page too, as motivation to buy. For me, it equals the missing buttons…

does anyone have fit pics of these? now that i own some 634s's im considering a pair of these.
-
Shouldn't they fit exactly like the 634? Not sure, though.
-
i just noticed in the measurements that the rear rises seem to be different. thats all.
-
Notably slimmer in the waist / top block (terms interchangable?) because the denim stretches less, IME, which includes ownership of 634S-B, but not 634S. Thighs, knee, etc. sometimes feel about the same, but it's difficult to compare because of the extreme difference in drape and stiffness. I put these through much more abuse than any other piece of clothing I own and only the seat is barely starting to pill from saddle wear, after somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 miles.

awesome review. very helpful! did you go tts? i usually size down one to account for stretch. i actually sized down 2 on my 634s but that doesnt seem possible with these.

riffblaster, I have the 9634z and they RULE. i went true to size and they were of course a little snug at first but now they are great. they feel quite a bit different than the regular 634..they are really rigid.. same fit and same size but they dont drape at all they just stack look tough.. whenever i wear them people always ask what they are because you can just see how thick and brutal they are when they are on..and i love that they are just straight black…superblack, black stitching, black leather patch, silver rivets. TOUGH AS NAILS.
