Where does everyone live?

Hello Everyone,
Greetings from North Carolina. Saw the 301s online at Self Edge and fell in love with them. Just pulled the trigger. Can't wait to see how they fit.Where in NC are you from? I just moved back to upstate SC from Charlotte.
With the name BullCityRez, I'm guessing Durham.
Upstate SC? I thought you were in Charleston for some reason…

Hello everyone. Im from the NJ/NYC area here in the USA. I am a middle aged dad and have 3 wonderful kids. I just recently started down the raw denim slippery slope. So far I have IH 633s, 666s ll, and 301N as well as some others. I really like the fit and the look, but really like the construction as I ride a motorcycle and my denim tends to take a beating.

Hello, rawdad! What you write sounds as if you've come to absolutely the right place, raw denim that has to take beatings, a motorbike… perfect! Enjoy it here, and you'll find this a very supportive community.

Welcome Rawdad!

Urban Texan here. I've lurked on-and-off for a little while, perusing all the individual item sub-sections on the forum, but as I (for the moment) now own a pair of IH jeans, that may well change!
Just got into raw denim a little while ago–got sick of all the ill-fitting items in my wardrobe and I'm working on better-fitting, longer-lasting items--and I had heard nothing but good things about IH gear. (I'm very much a stickler for the "buy cheap, pay twice" saying...)

I live in Portland, Oregon which is either as incredible as you've heard, or not quite as idyllic as it's been described to you, based on the capacity for precision of the person describing it to you. I like it a lot, and as someone who rides their bicycle most places, and favors walking or public transportation to driving, it's a hard place to beat. The persistent grey of the weather can be rough on California transplants (of which there are many, myself included), but to anyone not from California, I'd imagine the weather here seems mild and imminently manageable. I enjoy it because it often gives me legitimate cause to wear more layers of IH gear!
In addition to being a prime climate for IH wearing, Portland specifically, and the Pacific Northwest in general, is home to some of the best continuously running makers of durable clothing, boots, and accessories in the United States. Wesco boots are made 20 minutes outside of town in Scappoose. Dehen knits it's own incredible 4-end fabric with wool and produces some of the best varsity sweaters. cardigans, and varsity jackets around less than 2 miles from my apartment. Langlitz Leathers has been making heavy-duty, custom, made to measure motorcycle jackets since the 1940's and have been in their small workshop/retail space that's a 10 minute walk from my apartment since the 1970's. It's true that I'm spoilt for quality goods…but you must consider the implications of how quickly an innocuous walk around the neighborhood (or country drive, in Wesco's case) can turn expensive quickly! Quality problem I suppose!
Gave the long form story over on "The Hello Thread" but in the last nine years I've owned a solid variety of Iron Heart gear, made my living for 5 years selling IH (amongst other brands) for Self Edge, and now I am a partner in a mail-in focused denim repair company called Indigo Proof, headquartered here in Portland.

Welcome @tmadd. I had the pleasure of running into you a few days in a row a few months back at Self Edge when I was in town. Upon destruction of my next pair of denim they will be heading to Indigo Proof.

There's nothing like trying to run from a bad reputation! ;-P

I live in Pinehurst, NC. Originally from Philly then all over via 30 years of Active Duty Air Force change of stations all over the world. I am retired since Dec 2013. I just returned from a trip to Eugene OR to get myself resized for my 3rd custom White's Smokejumpers. I also own Wescos and Nicks. High quality Heavy Denim is the one thing I am missing. Not many businesses sell heavy duty denim that comes in work pants style. I love having the two (or three) side utility pockets as well as the double knee chaps similar to Carhartt, Key, or Berne. I found a link that says the IronHeart double knee engineer denim is extinct. I sure hope not. Anyway, thanks for allowing me to join and discuss the finer points of denim. I have lots to learn.
Take care
