IH-805 - 21oz Indigo Selvedge Denim Double Knee Overalls
-
@Filthy25ozJunkie:
I quit smoking about 2 months ago, so I'm getting fat again. My size 33s Beatle Busters are getting pretty snug. So I decided to take a crack at these on sale. I've wanted a pair of these for so long now…. I think a size 36 might be kind of baggy, but I'm hoping comfortable, because all my jeans have been killing me recently.
congrats on kicking the smoke monkey. for me as well, only snuff. to the tune of 2 cans a day prior to quitting.

Thanks Mike. I've taken up vaping. But I am probably going to give that up too. It's more expensive than smoking I think.

Here's a picture of the epically heavy denim on the front.
I really appreciate how much time and effort went into making these, how they always stay up, and how comfortable they are.
A big plus for me is how there's not that intersection of seams between the waistband and the back pockets that sometimes digs into my tail bone.
I also really like the feeling of being swaddled in extra heavy denim. I am a happy camper for sure. Thank you.

Is that like the Hitchhiker's Guide or something? I haven't read that book or seen the movie. I think that's what it is.
-
Yep.
Read the book skip movie.
Congrats on the bibs!
-
Thanks. I am delighted with them.

I wanted to share how ridiculously awesome the patch is on these, while I have them off waiting for the aerosol waterproofer I sprayed them with to dry. The stitching and craftsmanship of these is flawless. I feel exceptionally fortunate to have been able to finally score a pair of these.
Edit: this postimage does not like widescreen images!

@Madame Buttonfly I haven't had a chance to have any one take fit pics. But I definitely want to get some for the 'My favorite' picture thing, because these definitely are my all-time favorite. My girlfriend hates these, so I can't get her to take any.

I took a week break from these to wear my Serge cargos, but had been wearing these for the past 2 months solid. I now know why IH insists this denim is their signature… it is incredibly soft, comfortable, beautiful, and tough.
I hadn't even realized it until putting them on today. It is amazing. I was biased towards the 21 oz. because I read someone making despairing remarks about it being 'garbage'. The exact opposite is true! It is wonderful! It starting to feel like the softest cashmere and looks so nice. I really need to suck it up and break in my 21 oz jacket asap.

Yeah that dude, what a butthole. I don't know (and don't care) what his beef was. But, he's completely full of shit. I'm used to things in reality falling short of the claims being made by the sellers. But, nothing I've ever received from you has been anything but the utmost quality.
Who knows who else might have read that statement before a first time purchase and prevented them from buying what they were interested in?

Got my overalls out for the 1st time in a long time, recently. I had forgotten how nice they were and had been breaking in other stuff. Well, here they are. These are the older version with the longer knee patch. They look good to me. Sadly the leather IH patch turned black after it got wet and muddy. It also happened to the leather patch on a pair of IH-666-XHS as well, so I think it must be the alkaline clay ground in these parts which reacts with leather. I must take care to ensure that other IH leather patches don't get into contact with mud/muddy water.
As these overalls never seem to be available, it is reassuring that I've got an unworn pair in the wardrobe. They are the newer version with the shorter knee patch. -
Why don't you get them hemmed? They look fine to me.
I wear cuffs in most of my pants. Big cuffs.
