Jack, you might want to check out Gibson & Barnes in El Cajon…They have flight jackets in both leather
and nylon, motorcycle jackets and aviation related items. I'm sure you can find something for yourself
there! -
Well Cal-Leathers is in Ventura, not at all close to San Diego…Gibson & Barnes in El Cajon is right next
to San Diego, would be worth a look if you get the time and their prices aren't insane. Hope you get
the chance to check them out. -
For filson and carhartt Iron mountain outfitters can't be beat. And there's a men's clothing store called Lone Flag in Del Mar.

That's true! If you're going to be in SD for a couple weeks then Ventura is do-able. Public
tansportation in SD isn't too bad, lots of busses and I think they have trams in the old town area.
Your hotel should have all that info but renting a car will get you farther afield. -
Almost forgot. Depending on when you come in July. The comic con is here July 21-24 hats always fun even if you don't go into the convention. So much stuff in the surrounding areas.

IMO public trans is terrible in southern california unless you plan on staying seeing things directly on the coast.
San diego especially is not good , uber is your best bet .
Look up the "coaster " and "sprinter " amtrak to give you an idea how the trains in san diego run. Personally i wouldnt ride the bus .
LA has a mini subway that runs from the westside "coast" to west hollywood to downtown but thats it.
They also have services like zipcar? that let you rent cars hourly , they are parked randomly over the city.
California is a driving state , i think some of the best things you will find will be when you are driving around randomly , drive the coast highway PCH -
^I do agree with this, only exception is San Francisco.
