DC Drain and Clean - a group of skateboarders from the Washington, DC area who have made it their mission to seek out backyard pools to drain and skate - making unique friendships along the way. -
I skated from the age of about 14 'till I was around 20.
Just the idea of it now makes me wince with pain!
Fantastic times though and much missed.

I was a skater from the late 70's riding a plastic board with Gullwing trucks and Kryptonic wheels 'till the mid 80's riding a Zorlac Craig Johnson board with Independent trucks and Powell Peralta Bones wheels, street skating and riding ramps.
A great resource is available on Vice TV in the section called Epicly Later'd;

@riffblaster:
You gotta bring me here!!!
Next time you play Hannover
Just let me know, could set up a show. The park has a pa and enough space for a huge gig…Or I'll do it in a local club just like the last time.

Now that would be awesome.

I skated with Jason Jessee yesterday. That was cool. Still the best frontside Ollie.

X- Post
My first wash.
Dry Phase
Definitely no tumble dryer!
Taking fit pics is like diving in a bathysphere for me.
For that reason, this pic is more like a homage to a good old friend ;).
IHJ-24 Jacket from @neph93
Bandana from @Chris in my pocket
IH T, 634od, Banglu, pin
Brütting shoes
My back pack is not seen: Patagonia Black Hole 25But the focus is on the board.
Bought in 1992 as a hand built deck from a long time friend I started skating with in 1983.
It has still a tremendous rebound in the flex, so it is still used as a city cruiser, built with Gunmetal axes and Tunnel wheels.History:
I was hooked by the story of 'Sims' 1980 and my first admired skater was Lester Kasai!
My friend bought his deck and an intensive friendship over the decades started.
When he opened his own business with Wefunk, I bought the fourth deck he built.
We are both skating till today! -
This was really a great start …
Regarding the Skateboarding Theme, I skated from 10/11 till 15 I think so 2002 till 2007 but I wasn´t really aware on when it came to the Story of Brands and the Orgins, the Internet wasn´t that big of a thing and the Magazines where focused on the People instead on the Brands, so no Hype really back then, at least here, every Brand basiclly was in the same Price Range in the local Skate Shops.
I was a skater 1993-1996 in the UK and have never heard of Supreme. We liked Element, Blind, Alien Workshop, ES, Etnies, Emerica, World industries etc. And they were viewed as equal more or less and no brand loyalty, picked whatever we liked the look of lol
I’m an old fart. I used to skate from ‘86-‘89. Back then it was all about the Bones Brigade, Christian Hosoi, Santa Cruz, Vision street wear and the like. I’m still nostalgic for old skate graphics, especially Jim Phillips’ stuff!

Lester Kasai was an old favorite of mine from that era. Same with Hosoi, the Powell & Peralta guys, the Gonz, Tony Magnusson and so much more

The Skateboard talk got me to a point where I seriously consider buying a Skateboard again, not for Tricks but for cruising, these Old School Cruiser Decks from e.g. Powell look fun.
I’ve thought of buying one of those reissue 80’s decks and taking it to my local skate park, but then reality sets in. I’m 46 and would likely break a hip. I was never that good to begin with so injuries are very real [emoji16]

I´d probably buy something like this:
The 80s reissues are really cool but I don´t think i´ll invest that amount of money into a skateboard that I plan on just rolling around from time to time.
