FUN IN PHILADEPHIA - MEETUPS ON 30TH APRIL/1ST MAY
-
@Madame Buttonfly This will work for Me.
-
@Madame Buttonfly I think you know it would work for me. If you want I can walk to Pennsylvania 6 tomorrow before I fly out to politely ask them to respond to you.
-
Also for anybody traveling, Pipersville is just north of Doylestown on 6 11.

You are very kind @ROman - as if you hadn't already done enough legwork! Please don't worry unless you find you have spare time on your hands, if I don't hear back from them soon I'll give them a call.
-
OK. They have a spare room for private parties.

A Philly meetup?? I didn't think there were enough of us to facilitate a meet! I oh so rarely spot a selvedge stripe or decent flannel but maybe I'm not looking in the right place! So what are we thinking for said meetup?? I live just outside the city in West Chester but I work downtown-its a quick hop. While not much of a drinker myself, Victory Brewing is out by me and merits a visit for sure…

We're not exactly expecting a big crowd, we just thought it would be fun to meet up with some forum folks and if you can join us we'll be delighted. I'll certainly take a look at Victory Brewing, still need to confirm a meeting place for Saturday evening.
-
Hey I'd certainly stop by!

I'd say Philly is upping its game recently in terms of selvedge fandom and style in general. I live a little outside the Fishtown neighborhood, and I'd say I see a fair number of selvedge cuffs worn over workboots.
I usually don't get outside of Philly proper that often, but I'd defer to forum regulars regarding location.
-
I'll plan to drive down for this, @Giles you can have a go in my car so you can compare new vs old (if you promise to behave)
-
Hi @Madame Buttonfly -
Has a decision been reached on the Sunday brunch location?
-
I'd say outside the city center there is not much selvedge game…but I could be wrong. Its been a while since I spotted a selvedge stripe or those vintage McCoy hoodie pockets anywhere!
As I mentioned, I know there's a couple of shops on South St. That sell 3sixteen or RgT but there's nothing retail for IH or Strike Gold or other topnotch brands. I don't know if I'm happier with it this way or not. If we had a SE or BiG im Center City I'd be in bad trouble!! ; )
I'm absolutely down for a meet, Center City or just outside near me would be fine.
Un saludo!

@steelworker @ROman @derivative666 @thomasnunnally @Jett129 @babyknight @twin @notwithit @dcg - sorry for not updating earlier but as you may have noticed, my husband's buggered off fishing again, leaving me holding the fort!
I have booked the Plumsteadville Inn (http://plumsteadvilleinn.com/) at 12 noon for brunch on Sunday 1st May - it's a little way out of town, so if you haven't already done so please check out the location on their website and let me know for sure if you'll come (and how many of you) - I'd like to be able to give the restaurant firm numbers a few days in advance. Looks as if we'll be a group of between 15 and 20 which will be perfect.
For the Saturday evening, as some of us are staying downtown, I'm liking the idea of Frankford Hall (http://www.frankfordhall.com), it's large and casual and no reservations are required (although I have written to them saying we'll be a group of around 15-20 to see if I can reserve tables). Again, I know travelling into central Philly may be a drag for some of you, so let me know if this works and if you think you can make it.
Getting very excited about seeing everyone - and meeting some new faces!
-
@StarsSuck - sorry, missed you off the list on previous post - I did look at Victory Brewing (looks great), thanks for the suggestion. Hope you can join us on Saturday evening or for Sunday brunch!
-
Thanks for the update Paula! I think you made a great choice for Saturday night!
-
Frankford Hall does look good. Kinda sad that I'll be missing this one, but I'll be attending Caroline's rainbow unicorn birthday party on Saturday, which obviously is going to be the blowout of the year.
-
@Madame Buttonfly - thanks for the invite! Frankford Hall is a cool little beer garden style spot and absolutely worth a visit. While I don't think I can make it Sat evening, I would love to join you all at the Plumstead on Sunday! Media is not very far from where I live in West Chester and that sounds like a delightful way to spend a Sunday morning!
Un saludo!

A Rainbow Unicorn Party?!
I'm GREEN with envy, sounds A-MAZ-ING! Wish I could be in two places at once, I'd crash Caroline's party for sure (poor kid)
