H has never mentioned kevlar and it does not float my boat enough to initiate…...sorry.....
I can totally understand this - I guess I just want a pair of jeans that will last me 40+years - I'm sure my IH's will last a good long time, but I walk a TON living in SF and having a dog so crotches tend to go long before the rest of the pair is ready to give up the ghost.
You want Kevlar to walk your dog in!? LOL
If you get crotch blowouts too soon you need to wash or soak your jeans more. Or get a looser fit.
2X2 miles a day with San Francisco hills … and I'm already rocking 634's and all the looser IH fits have rises that are to high. If I size up an more I'll need to get the waists tailored - the 38's I wear in IH are already fairly loose in the waist while just fitting in the thighs.

Brown whipcord is being sample in 816
Nice, although I'm not familiar with whipcord. What is brown whipcord?
-
Whipcord is the outer fabric we use for our Deck Coats, Jackets and Vests. This year we are releasing a brown Deck Jacket. I decided to use some of the fabric for pants….

Thank you @Giles. Sounds interesting.

Excited to see what shade of brown these come in! Would love a chocolate brown as opposed to the brown duck coloring. Ever since I let my jungle cloth SCxSE collabs go, I have been dreaming of something similar. Very excited to see these happen!

I agree with this, chocolate brown would be nice.

G, please let me know what to write on the form. IH-816 brown whipcord will do? I haven't had a pair of brown workpants since my old American-made Ben Davis 50/50s. I wore those things into the ground. I look forward to beating the crap out of a pair of these. Brown pants look so good with so many shirts, IMO. Thanks for pushing for these.

About 10-11 I'd say. If you have seen one of our deck jackets, coats or vests, it is the same fabric…..
Nice. I'll check out some of the jackets, coats, and vests.
I'll be looking forward to these if/when they are made.

This either probably won't happen or has already happened at some point and I am unawares but… I would love a 634II with tonal stitching. The 633 has the look I'd be going for but not the cut. I'm not a fan of that contrast. Just a thought!
Un saludo!

Tonal stitching was the subject of some discussion early in the development of the double indigo jeans. The forum members seemed fairly evenly split, as I recall, and neither Giles nor Haraki were in favor. Based on that, I think you're out of luck.
The 634SII are fantastic jeans, and although it would probably be a production and logistical nightmare, I'd like to think there's enough demand for each version to accommodate producing both. A pair with tonal stitching (and silver hardware) would be so completely different from my current pair that I could easily justify the additional purchase. Make them non-fading and that would be damn close to my perfect jean.

@StarsSuck - depending on where you get the 633 hemmed, they can end up fairly similar in fit to the 634. I had Kiya check the leg opening on a pair of 633 hemmed to 32" (my usual inseam) and the measurement was only slightly below the hem measure of a 634N. Might be worth looking into if you really love the tonal stitching.
@Chris - I would love the idea of a "Forum" version of the 634.. something that we all vote on and the winner of all the details gets made. A Knife pocket like on the BB would be cool, and I agree on silver hardware and tonal stitching, or perhaps a totally different color of stitching, like on the Vulcan. Maybe even have the pocket bags stamped with the IHF-2016 badge…
