Got my 470 Black Fade to Grey back from the talented crew at Indigo Proof ( @tmadd ) after getting a bit chopped off and hemmed.
I gave them a machine wash and machine dry before sending off and the size went down a bit even from
When new (they are factory one washed anyways).Very happy with the silhouette now and these will be a great black jean option for the warmer months ahead. I'm
Interested in seeing how these fade compared to IH SBG…Current texture:
Definitely a more washed out black color even when compared to a few weeks of wear priorSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gave the SC470 black fade to grey another wash.. These lose dye quickly, but still have a more vintage fade pattern when compared to the IH SBG which is usually super sharp in the examples I have seen. I'm guessing that's because of the light weight nature of the SC version… Anyways, here are pre-wash pics.. They are in the dryer now (yes, I'm not overly careful with my gear... Most of the time)
Cheers,
Adam

@tmg:
Perfect fit, and looks spot on with the white (wheat?) jeans! Wish I could pull off that look
Thanks dude! Im very happy with the way this one fits me. It's the 1962 model and the denim is pretty awesome. It's a lot longer than I anticipated, which is a good thing!
You could pull off wheat jeans! The new 666 pique would be a great option when they hit!

An update on my 470 Black Fade to Grey Type III jeans - worn 1-3 days per week since December of 2015. Washed twice.

Your SC41470 are looking nice, Appfaff! I didn't know you had a pair, too. I bought mine a couple of months ago at Hinoya (Rakuten). After several soaks/washes the top botton developed some rust. I really like its look now!
All in all it's a great lightweight pair of black-fades-to-grey jeans for a great price. And they do fade fast. What I'm not a fan of is the sulphur smell which is still slightly noticeable even after three soaks and three washes. And taller guys beware: they do come with a short inseam in sizes up to 36. Only tag 38 has a longer inseam of ~35,5 inches.

looking good @Dion - I agree that they are great jeans. Sadly, mine are too big now, so they are reserves for my "work" jeans… they see the washer and dryer a lot of tighten them up, and mine are pretty much grey now. I'll post some pics coming up soon.

@501/IH:
These are my recently acquired SEXSC06, hard used in W 30. They are so frail and brittle that almost every use produces fresh damages, but this also is a case of deep denim love….I don't think I own any pair of jeans that feels greater!
The knee rip which sharp eyes will have detected in the first pic occurred with my very first outing with them…
And here's a detail of the beautiful repair work that's already been done, there is a welter of examples of these, I believe all done at SESF. Many more will have to come, I only now have to find a repair shop of comparable quality…
@501/IH Are these still going, or have they been retired? Pic update?
-
Thanks for the interest! They are certainly not retired, but also very rarely worn. One or two days this year, I reckon. So the pics are still absolutely valid, no "development". Worry with them is that the combination of tightness and their brittle state could lead to a rather embarrassing damage in wear. Plus they are very much jeans for warmer climes, so their next outing will have to wait several months, until it is spring again.
