Calling Seinfeld unfunny is a solid unpopular opinion, no matter how warranted.

Human life loss aside, who really gives a shit that Prince died? Am I an asshole, or just not a fan? Maybe both?
It's just that every time a celebrity dies, everyone acts like it's a big deal.
I'm not not a fan of Prince, and this isn't about him necessarily. It's more about celebrity death in general.
Especially when it comes to the ones who haven't worked in 20-30 years. Why are we suddenly so crushed and all "we'll miss you so much celebrity we haven't heard from in decades!!" It's not like we're having Sunday dinner with them.Yes. I mean, Prince was an incredible musician and all, but still. If you want to hear Prince like you remember him, you still can. Play your old records and you'll always have him just like you remember him. How does his death change anything?
Yes, very talented musician. I absolutely respect and appreciate what he did for music. But what was he doing yesterday? When 90 year old celebrity X dies, and hasn't made a movie or a record in decades, I can't help but not give a shit. Not that prince was 90.

I never knew that I knew so many Prince fans until he died, same with Bowie, Lemmy etc….
He did a hell of a Batman soundtrack though

I'm pretty ambivalent to The Sign's death. Though, I am certainly not in any way ambivalent to a twat who thinks that calling himself a sign is a cool idea…...
My favourite Facebook post today.
Fuck, now we have to listen to nothing but Princes music until someone better croaks.....

I hope Kanye lives forever

from my very limited understanding, Prince was a musician of a high caliber who produced prolifically. a pop star quite different from the Cowell model
I saw him once in concert, it was cool- I wasn't a fan but I recognized every song played & he was very good live

I also have to agree. Yes, it's always sad when someone passes, usually for the people that actually know the person. And I get the whole, "he/she had such a big impact on my life." but people who never knew the person being hysterical over their death always blows my mind.

Prince's music had a pretty strong impact on my life- Purple Rain was the first album I ever bought, and his music was a big part of my formative years. Even though I didn't really listen to anything he did since the mid 90s, the occasional Prince stories and random tv appearances never failed to make me smile. That's gone now, and that makes me a little sad. If you don't get it, or don't feel the same, that's cool. I didn't really care about Lemmy or Bowie. If we were all the same, life would be dull as shit.
And Mega's right- the Batman soundtrack was pretty great. Trust, Party Man and Electric Chair especially so. Batdance, not so much.

I was introduced to Prince during his peak in the 80's via my Uncle. He would get royally hammered and blast Purple Rain from his turntable. I happened to lose said Uncle recently as well, so the music that stuck with me in combo of said loss stirred some shit.
That aside, I always respected him as a cat that did his own thing. Plus he was one of the better guitar players of his time and genre

Unpopular Opinion: Color is overrated; it distracts from the many lovely value patterns and shades of grey that the world has to offer. Also, B&W draws attention to good composition and texture/shiny things I.E. chrome or leather. Sometimes, instead of seeing in color I wish that the world would have the beautiful high contrast monochrome appearance of movies like Sin City or even Down By Law or Dead Man.
