I'd say it's a quicker break-in with one or more less layers. I spend 12+ hours a day in my steel toe unlined jobmasters for work and I don't have any issues whatsoever. They're comfortable while being tough as nails. I've been wearing the same jobmasters for the last ~5 years (with a rebuild about 6 months ago) where most guys I work with are lucky to get a year out of a pair of Red Wings or something similar.

Well, probably the last thing I need is another pair of Boss boots but I just pre-ordered these:

This is a pretty amazing build and the veg tan leather should patina nicely with wear.

I need some Veg Tan boots!!!
-
Wesco has added several defect-free MP toe packers in black oil tan and brown domain to their "Factory Seconds" page for $300. Mostly even sizes. Go get 'em, boys!
-
size 7E Jobmaster for $125 no defect, whoaa.
-
Anybody know the dealer that did the recent cordovan foot patrols? @Chris at Wesco ?
-
I'm officially "Romeo-curious" - anyone have them, pics, thoughts???
@Chris at Wesco any advice on sizing vs. other Wesco boots? What is the standard last? And seems like the wedge sole is a popular choice, I'd love to see some with other soles.
-
@Beerhammer It was a direct customer that sent me the hides:)
@Bluegrass It would be our #65 shoe last. It runs about a half size larger than the standard Jobmaster last.

So….the question now is....how many SQ FT do you need to make a pair of boss boots?
-
At least 12 sq feet of usable leather!
