Sugar Cane

looking good @Dion - I agree that they are great jeans. Sadly, mine are too big now, so they are reserves for my "work" jeans… they see the washer and dryer a lot of tighten them up, and mine are pretty much grey now. I'll post some pics coming up soon.

@501/IH:
These are my recently acquired SEXSC06, hard used in W 30. They are so frail and brittle that almost every use produces fresh damages, but this also is a case of deep denim love….I don't think I own any pair of jeans that feels greater!
The knee rip which sharp eyes will have detected in the first pic occurred with my very first outing with them…
And here's a detail of the beautiful repair work that's already been done, there is a welter of examples of these, I believe all done at SESF. Many more will have to come, I only now have to find a repair shop of comparable quality…
@501/IH Are these still going, or have they been retired? Pic update?

Thanks for the interest! They are certainly not retired, but also very rarely worn. One or two days this year, I reckon. So the pics are still absolutely valid, no "development". Worry with them is that the combination of tightness and their brittle state could lead to a rather embarrassing damage in wear. Plus they are very much jeans for warmer climes, so their next outing will have to wait several months, until it is spring again.

Thanks, Appfaff! Looking forward to your evo!
Per request…
It's kinda cold and raining outside, and headed to the shooting range, so figured it's the perfect time to wear the Sc470

Solid fit dude - enjoy them. Mine have turned grey because of how many washes they have had lol - the ego was "sharper" before I washed and dried a bunch. Fabric is super soft on mine and almost a bit stretchy feeling. Wishing I had a size down from mine as well.

Edit: I'd love to know the difference as well haha

Hawaii uses RHT denim and the Okinawa uses LHT denim. The Okinawa is darker than the Hawaii. It's also said that the Sugar Cane fibers come from the name-giving island. But I doubt that.
Oh, and the cuts are slightly different but that could also be through natural variations from cutting&sewing

What he said. There is a noticeable color difference between the two with the Okinawa being darker and the Hawaii being bluer. I have Okinawas, some day I want to get some Hawaii too.

I've been eying both myself as I've been searching for a repro style Jean for 2017. I prefer the hem of the 1955 cut but I think the top block of the 1947 is more universally flattering. I have some Oki Denim coming in this week, so maybe I'll know Immediately know if I need more Oki denim in my life or if I should go for the Hawaii - HPA has then both cuts in raw or OW for 190+shipping (although their shipping is outrageous).
Anyways, figured I'd post some more pics of the 470 "fade to grey" as I've been wearing them this weekend since I needed a roomier thigh after a bad squat session haha [emoji23]
This was back in February when thy were still "black"
This is now - definitely more "grey" than anything else. Traintracks are crazy pronounced and a lot of Button fading on the fly. Indigo proof hemmed them so there is some decent roping as well.
I wish the denim didn't stretch so much because they are the perfect size for me out of the dryer. They will shrink to an inch under tagged size with a wash and machine dry.

Is there any out there who has an Sugar Cane Lot 303 Jeans Fiber Denim Indigo 16,5 oz.
The denim on those jeans is absolutely amazing. First time SC has made denim above 15oz too!
They're coming in a slim tapered fit in December. -

Since I will need to repair my 633s soon, I’ve been wearing my SC Okinawas
As I’m sitting around the airport, admiring my jeans, I just remembered how incredibly beautiful the Okinawa denim is. I need to wear these more often.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
