Lifter problems

UES 400t. Best out there for big thighs and a good taper. Only jeans I have never had to tailor
-
@spitfiredealer, what are those?
My most comfortable are IH 1955S (that's why I'm eager to see them made in different denims) and SDA D-101. I also like the SC Okinawa.
On the other hand, I had high hopes for PBJ xx-009 but they shrank too much in the upper thigh area.
-
See when I tried on the FH 3012 I felt it was too much. I could hardly get the leg opening over my calves.
-
and the 3012 has a fairly low back rise…
If you squat a lot, they wont really work well.

I'm not a lifter but I've been cycling all my life and running for last 4 years so I can identify with the large thigh issue. UES 400t and Imperial Shearer are two examples that work for me.

Resolute 710 XX is also a great cut. And the 400T, as mentioned.
-
Full Count 1101 and its 1101XX equivalent
Edit: since everyone and their mother is doing „lifter cuts“ these days you will also find models from Japan Blue (High Taper) and Momotaro (forgot the model name), Naked & Famous’ Easy Guy, Unbranded recently released such a cut. Over on reddit’s rawdenim subreddit you will find more options

Bought a pair of 634 OD about a month ago. Sized down 1. Wearing them for the first time today. My quads have grown significantly in that month! Going to be putting the stretchability of the 21oz to the test over the coming weeks! Good news is the waist still fits perfectly. So at least i know my bulking up is working. #lifterproblems

633 & 634S. I have been lifting for many years and these two have fit my thighs the best, with room to spare. I had to get the 634S' tapered because the straight cut follows to the hem.

You should not be "bulking" unless your overall volume increases.
Bulking is cause either by 1. Hypertrophy (which usually happens due to 1. A lot of volume in short amount of time or 2. Reps in the 8-12+ range at moderate loads) or 2. A caloric increase compared to your metabolic rate.
Just because you get stronger doesn't mean your legs will
Get bigger. However, bigger legs usually do mean stronger legsNow this is hypertrophy range haha-
This was a 1-10-1-20-1-30 squat workout. 30 reps at 90% BW after 20 reps @100%BW and 10 reps at 110% BW and some heavy singles thrown in the mixhttps://instagram.com/p/BO-qSzhlO0_/

Maybe bulking was the wrong term. My point is that 3x3 at heavier weight should result in less mass gained than 5x5 at a lower weight (but comparable level of perceived effort).
Also, you're strong as hell. There's no f'ing way I'd ever be able to do even 1/3 of that workout. Impressive work.
-
@JDelage - I agree with you about the 3x3 vs 5x5. Unless there is a huge increase in loading paired with a huge increase in caloric intake. Some strength athletes will actually use deloading in volume and an increase in caloric intake to force faster recovery or taper before a meet or game.
and Im not really strong. im one of the weaker dudes in my own damn gym haha.

Another #lifterproblems member here. I wear a 34 (often buy a 33 to account for stretch), and my thighs measure ~25. So any jeans that measure less than 12.5 flat are an absolute no go. I usually like to see 13-13.5 because I don't like tight pants. I also tend to have issues with the top block being tight around the low hip area, which was my problem with the brown whipcord workpants that I had to send back.
I'm currently wearing the IH 1955S, which are pretty good in the leg, but as I mentioned in that other thread (that we got booted from), the rise on these is very high. I still like them, but it makes the pockets seem short, and I have trouble walking up stairs with a phone in my pocket.
I've found that the momotaro copper label G019-MB work well, although I have little time in them since it's winter and I've been sticking with my 1955s. I think I have an advantage because I don't care for narrow leg openings either, so I don't need an extreme taper. I have relatively long legs so I think the wider lower legs balance that out.

I too have this same issue and I have found the Iron Heart 633, Railcar Spikes, and Left Field Greaser (for a more straight leg fit) and Charles Atlas (for a tapered fit) fits work.
