Watches - another OCD problem
-
A lot of nice (Expensive) watches on here!!
I have a smaller budget.
any thoughts on these 2 from Steinhart ?
980 euro and 490 euro

Steinhart makes solid watches at competitive prices. I've owned a couple over the years and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. My biggest issue with the company is that they mimic Rolex styling far too closely for my preference.
That said, I've always loved the Daytona and it's many, many imitators…

Oh, that is very nice.
I'm starting to develop a Sinn infatuation. That is not helping…

You can't go wrong with a Steinhart. The value for money you get is more or less unbeatable.
Personaly I would prefere your second option, since Chronographs like option no. 1 are to busy for my taste.
My watch today.

Very nice.
No2 watch was my original choice months ago.
I've recently started to look again at watches and Steinhardt caught my eye.
I've had various watches over the years but ended up selling them as I realised I wasn't wearing them. This was going to be a treat for myself and would have to start wearing a watch on a regular basis.
Still not decided though. But watch in pic 2 is my favourite too.

If you're not sure you're gonna wear it often, consider buying 2ndhand…

Yeah that is an option. I've been looking on eBay. There's s few on eBay UK, but not the model I'm after.
Thanks

or IWC at that too. one of the few watches i cherish dearly..

The guy who made my strap (Toshi) put this picture up on his site. It's one of the first Typhoon straps he made, with butterscotch stiching on a Tudor Bronze Bucherer.
I think the whole thing looks rather nice…..

I know that there's a massive demand for stainless steel Daytonas, but that price is ridiculous!

1. Just saw that news on the 'Dink when I checked my email… Nuts! I was ballparking it around, say, $5M to $10M but then again this is the watch that got the vintage Rolex frenzy pushed over the edge so I guess it makes sense.
2. Here's my 1972 ref. 1601 "Wide Boy" that I totally love. Picked up from the guys over at HQ Milton in San Francisco.
