I had a conversation with a coworker a couple months ago when he asked me what was the best style for self/home defense. Of course he rattled off the usual suspects: kung fu, tae kwon do, karate…etc
I explained to him that the "winner" of a self defense situation is the guy who dies second and home defense simply involves an expensive firearm and cheap wallpaper
I think my answer was more than what he was willing to accept

+1 hectic - hilarious . . . I just had this mental picture of Doug aiming the "expensive firearm" as he so eloquently described the scenario . . .

Put this guy in a room with a 14 year old Death Squad member from Sierra Leone that hasn't eaten in a few days
I'm putting money on the guy that has raped, maimed and killed since he was 8 years old, not the guy making Youtube videos
If your intent is to break bones, you're going to lose against the guy who's first move is to make a meal of your face

Wing Chun is the best and effectiv self defence art!
You dont need much power…the key is timing, technic and you use the power from your enemie!
Wing Chun is not a competition fight how karate, kickboxing, boxing, take wondo...ect.
Wing Chun is destroy and killing praktic!Jürgen Harlander-Sifu of Wan Kam Leung Kung Fu...
He is 175cm and 70kg heavy -he isnt a muscle guy...but he can break every bone in EVERYBODY in few seconds and he can kill EVERYONE in a little more time!!!How long have you trained? as you speak like somebody who is just finished his first ever basic course in martial art. I know what wing chun is. And I'm not putting it down.
Then there is karate and karate. you obviously don't know squat about that. But enough for this peeing contest. I just rest my case. -
Mr G. Sure, I'm done with this topic and sure didn't want to start peeing contest or flaming.
My bad, excuses to everybody who might have been offended.
No need to open a new thread in my point of view. If somebody wants to do that I can contribute, but in constructive way.
