Pure Blue Japan (PBJ)

I had fun flipping thru this thread and seeing everyone’s PBJ’s. Just got the XX-012 from BiG. Love the leaf detail on the back of the buttons. Fit pics to come as they’ve just been soaked.

@Mustafa911 these are the PBJxBOW collabs. The photo is after about 50-60 wears and two cold soaks. I have since soaked them again and they have a bit more life to them now.

@bloodnthunder
Thanks . The color looks amazing and different type of OD. I’ve had this in my cart since last night when I learned about 20% discount coupon. ExcitedSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think you'll be disappointed. They are super slubby which helps the overdye wear off quicker yielding a nice electric blue. I tend to wear my jeans in really slow, but these are definitely fast faders.

@Mustafa911 … @BloodnThunder is spot on, here.
I'll add, they are a different animal than the IH-OD, altogether. I find the IH to be a more saturated black, undoubtedly from the intensity of the over-dyeing process. The PBJ first arrived a dark black, but in the light they had quite a peek through indigo hue, and the black dye sheds far more rapidly. I imagine this is due to a far less intense, and more superficial over-dyeing process. I think this all makes sense if you consider, with the IH all possible shrinkage is removed in the OD process, while the PBJ still shrink a considerable amount.

That’s great , I saw bloondnthunder picture and the denim looks amazing . Actually I like PBJ in raw state . I always admired their double indigo denims. I own 8 IH denims (18oz-25oz) Maybe it’s time to try PBJ 18oz. I don’t like anything lighter than 18oz

You're on the right track, here. I've got 2 pairs of their 14oz denim (purple and cobalt wefts). While they hold their own, the heavier weight, more substantial slub, and outright character of the 18oz can't be beat.

They're dry

@RoxRocks86
I just received a raw pair of 012s as well - could you please shed soem light on how much they shrank? I ould Need a decent amount of Stretch and thus think of washing them at 60°C right away…unlss they already shrink a good amount just from soaking -
@Max Power Sorry, may not be the best to answer on shrinkage. Which area(s) are you concerned about shrinking? I got a size 26 which had a 27.5” waist pre-soak. Fit was kinda snug on dry fit so did a cold soak. Had some slight shrinkage and could barely get them on after they dried. They did stretch quite a bit tho. The waist got an inch of stretch and could probably get a little more but I wear a belt. Not sure on the inseam as I’m quite short and always need to cut a chunk off.

@RoxRocks86 thanks for the reply! I need the whole jeans to shrink, but mostly the diaper ass and waist. Will try to take some pictures later, but im confident that they will fit if i only wash them hot enough.

Hoping for the best on the hot wash!

Heres the presoak fit
