Let It Snow!!!! Winter Sports Thread

Thanks @Aetas, well after the first two tous I can tell you it's very importand to have the right diameter at the pole tips. When I tested them at home, I used a older pole with a small diameter and it worked just fine to change the, sorry for the rest, but this is a german word, Steighilfe. Is the english word heel lifter? The pole I used on the tour has/had thicker tips and it wasen't so easy to change the Steighilfe/heel lifter and in the end the tip of one pole got broken. Performance wise I was very pleased, felt very secure and robust with lots of power. My old set up was already 10 years old and much, much heavier, had a beast of a Rahmenbindung 4 times as heavy. Considering the right pole is used the first test really surprised me in a very positive way, but the season just has started.

Many thanks for your review @marlin !
Just asked, because I consider to build up a Ski with the very tempting new Salomon S/Lab shift binding , which combines a low-tech touring pin binding with the performance of an alpine binding.

Have a couple days off and went to case some snow. The first part I spend in the Martellertal where I made the Madritschspitze (3265M) and the Plattenspitze (3422M). Yesterday evening I changed the location to the Langtaufertal, but it snows and has poor visibility, looks like a resting day.
A few pics…

I'am very sorry for the links, but I do not know how to post the videos directly. The links lead to my private photo website and show in the first video a nice panorama on the summit of Madrtischspitze, the second shows the brutal wind doing the accent to Plattenspitze, and the third shows the panorama with heavy wind on Plattenspitze.

Beautiful day with plenty of fresh snow to try and power through. Ended up having to drop my pressure to 1.5 psi just to make it up the gentlest of hills. Maybe it's finally time to swap to the winter tires!
