What is a good starter camera? I know nothing of photography but i am very interested in starting to experiment with it, with something other than my shitty phone camera.

I shot those black & white photos above with my girl’s cheaper Canon Kiss camera.
Any camera will do but typically the more you pay, the better technology there is like autofocus, frames per second, cropping conveniences (framing closer on an edit), ergonomics, etc making it just a better tool for the job.
Some may have better recommendations but check these out below:
• Nikon D5300
• Canon EOS 250D
• Travel friendly, great all-around: Fuji XT seriesFrom there, I recommend getting a 35mm lens for around a few hundred bucks which will show objects as the similar to when you look at something with your eyes if you do end up getting a cheaper DSLR (typically an APS-c camera)
A good exercise/project from here is to set a day aside from morning-night & journal the entire day. Now the challenge is to select only 8-10 images to summarize the day (& post here !)

@BD81 Not sure where you’re located, but I have an old Canon 40D DSLR body that I could give you. You would have to purchase a lens for it. I would recommend the 28-135 zoom lens as that gives you lots of composition options. Thought the exercise that f12 suggested was great. Two that I still use to this day are pretend that you’re an insect looking through an insects eyes, and pick a location like a beach or park and go there at least once a week and take 36 pictures(Which used to be a roll of film) Good luck.

Thanks guys! I never would have thought of doing any of those exercises. I prob would have just went into the woods and started snapping pics lol. @Jett129 i haven't really thought about what i wanted to spend yet. I live in canada how much would that lense cost for the body?

I didn’t know there is a camera and photo talk! Damn great photos I see.
I‘m mostly into landscape photography and using my Sony A7III with the Tamron 17-28 2.8.
My second camera and one of my favorites of all time is the Fuji X100. Got the new V Version just for Eastern.Tried for the first time some Street last year in Portland and I liked the results:
