Guitars anyone???

I accidentally bought 2 guitars off eBay the other day… ::)
Hopefully, @AdamJ will buy one off me (no pressure) so I don't feel so stupid. Pics will follow but they're just a couple of Squire Telecasters as I'm looking to get back into playing and didn't want to go crazy. Plus I planning up upgrading the pickups and electronics. That is all. -
The only thing better than a Telecaster is another Telecaster.

Have been playing a Taylor acoustic for quite some time, but recently made the switch to a Fender Performer HSS Strat. Can't ask for more! I'm loving the buttery smooth playability after having played acoustic for a long time!

got neither. but you should look at a PRS silver sky
-
hahaha. they do sound good don't they. a pity i've moved over to bass now. wouldn't mind a martin and co acoutic though but they're expensive.
-
Anyone got a mustang or jazzmaster? I am on the fence about which to get :-\
I don’t own either but I worked in guitar stores for 18 years so I’m plenty familiar with both, and I prefer the Jazzmaster for the regular Fender scale length and IMO it has a more distinctive tone. Depends on what you’re after sound-wise.

So, I accidentally bought two because I thought the one guitar that I "won" on eBay got cancelled. It disappeared from about an hour. Then this lovely looking sunburst double-bound Tele came up for sale and i just went for it… 5 minutes later the other one reappeared. I'm far too English to make up an excuse to get out of the sale.
It's all good. I'll be able to sell it. @AdamJ said it looks nice but the pickups are garbage. As expected. May keep it and use it to upgrade and tweek. The case is pretty nice
I have a friend with a few PRS… they're really nice they just don't do it for me aesthetically... and i'm not good enough to do one justice.

@Sam pics?

@Sam Garbage was unfair of me and for sub 200$ it's plays pretty well in my view.
@xtcclassic Thanks for the info, think I am just going to have to wait out the lockdown and try a few.
-
Here it is @xtcclassic
Planning on giving it a good clean soon. Then I'll start to upgrade as and when. The 3rd position seems a little loose. I get a bit of crackle when moving it in and out of 3rd. I think upgrading the electrics will be my first job. I'm pretty happy with the sound as it is. The humbucker is nice and buttery and sounds really nice with reverb.
If anyone has any advice on preamps and compression pedals then I'll be all ears. I'm not really sure where to begin or if I even need one from the type of music I'll no doubt be making… droning ambient noise.

@Sam sweet! Yeah the electronics are usually the weak point of lower priced guitars these days, structurally they’re pretty great considering the price. Fortunately great electronic components are fairly inexpensive:

You’ll have to make a few modifications because these are English rather than metric, but they’re easy mods for a qualified guitar tech. -
I have the Keeley compressor and it’s pretty awesome.

I'm looking at getting back into the guitar and am eyeing up a multi fx / amp simulator to run it through. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?
The Line 6 HX Stomp is pretty tempting. They offer a cut price version of Helix Native to registered owners, and if I feel really flush, there's the Powercab to amplify it.
However, the HeadRush Gigboard is a similar price, but less compromised, and their FRFR speakers are a lot cheaper than the Powercab.

I don’t have any personal experience with the Helix stuff but I’ve looked into it and heard pretty great things. The only modeling option I currently use is the Bias Amp app on my iPad.
