Baku by Valerie Vargas, done on my thigh about six weeks ago.
One of my favourite tattooers. She specialises in traditional / neo traditional, so I asked her to do a japanese tattoo. Saw an interview of her a few years ago and she said that she rarely gets a chance to do Japanese tattoos (particularly as her husband is considered one of the UKs best at doing them) so thought I would provide a challenge…..
Difficult to photograph. Done in one four hour session. Stoked with the results.

Absolutly perfect @Cutlasshound I love it! So cool to see that style from Valarie. Im gutted I didn't get to see this when you were down the other day, I've GOT to see it next time!
Valarie and Stewart are sooo lovely and have had the pleasure of being tattooed by both of them when they were at Frith Street.

I can’t believe she could produce A piece like that in a mere 4hrs - it is one awesome tattoo @Cutlasshound … I really like her work and have been threatening to pay the big smoke a visit... did you have to book the session well in advance?

Literally the day before I went, I saw on her Instagram stories that she had a cancellation.
She was saying that she did not realise how many international clients that she had and due to covid has had a few cancellations. I would keep your eye on her Instagram stories feed or give the shop a ring. You may be able to get in pretty quickly.
Also, just in case not familiar, the shop is about a five to ten minute walk from Fulham Broadway station (which os on the District Line, Wimbledon branch and is probably about 20-25 minutes from Charing Cross).

Lots of great stuff out there!
All but one of mine are done by Adam Sage of 1770 in Brighton who works without electricity. King Crab from my grandfather's fishing company, Bergson's memory cone from my PhD, Lascaux cave paintings, poker chip from an American road trip with three good friends. The only one that isn't Adam Sage is the small '344<' in the last photo, which is a birthmark by Liberate Tate.
Once Covid calms down I'm hoping to see Adam for a few little jumping salmon.
888-21-OD and 14oz black hoodie for good measure.

Nice! Elbows are tricky. I just got my knees done recently and oof. What started off as a good idea quickly turned into the longest time I've spent sitting trying not to kick someone.
