Sounds like a good choice @louisbosco - With flat bars and not fairing to remove I reckon you could do quite a lot with a hornet !
-
@Baba-san yeah, there are plenty of builds around with that model. one that i've like and taken an interest to is using the ducati monster's front end. it just sits perfectly and gives that crouch feeling when riding

Was able to play around with the Thruxton RS and 1100 Sport Pro today. My hands down favourite was the Thruxton. Better fit, finish, and aesthetics.
Not running out to buy one tomorrow, but if I do, it will definitely be the Triumph.
I took the “Boss” with me and I got the look of death when I started talking numbers. Decided to slow down before I go any further.

Gents… rule one on motorcycle purchase... never take the other half with you... and rule two, it was half the price you paid for it... providing it’s not a brand new bike!!!

Right…this proves that buying motorcycles from widows is bound to be a bargain!!!

This was the nicest pic a buddy took during my recent bike trip to Bolivia’s mountains.
I’m riding a 2014 BMW R1200R. Bought it second hand, in good shape. The front telelever suspension does wonders for one’s confidence in curves and under braking. Front dive is almost negligible…I know many disagree with telelever but it works for me.
Under my mesh KLIM jacket rides an unseen IHJ 79 blocking chilly mountain air and doing a wonderful job keeping me warm till later in the day when I can take it off .

@motojobobo Great picture of you in that curve and it looks like a fantastic place to ride!

Not sure how I missed such a nice comment @goosehd ; thanks buddy, it was a lovely trip and the R1200R is a wonderful bike for twisty mountain roads.
Maybe we ought to plan an IH motorbike trip in Bolivia now that we have good paved roads. After the Caribbean fishing trip, naturally. Wonder how many IH folk would be interested?

imagine a gumball 3000 but for motorcycles.. not sure if one exists..

I would love to ride with a bunch of the guys who ride on the Forum, starting with Haraki. Probably not logistically possible.
That would be very cool. Who knows, although logistically challenging, given Haraki’s (and Giles’?) interest in motorcycles maybe he’d be up for something like that. Wonder whether IH-JP have done group trips like that. If everybody wears IH gear, it may even be useful promo material?

@motojobobo That would be a blast!
