Photograph and Camera talk

I’m a big fan of reflective photography, also love the puddle reflection shot you did. Only/best way to learn is to take pictures, and you’ll see what work’s/doesn’t work and what is pleasing to your eyes. Over time you’ll develop a style of photography that’s unique to you. Keep at it.

Thanks so much. Over the Summer they started this thing called The Circuit in Asbury Park,NJ,which is something that had previously existed in the 60s and 70s. Just an informal meet up of guys with their cars. If I’m in the area,I go and bring my camera. They’re on social media..FB and IG as well.

What a great shot, @Jett129 love the classic B&W look on this one.
@Jcaz6996 My typical routine is the following:
1. Delete obvious f*** up shots (0-2 on a scale of 5) straight in the camera
2. Load jpgs from SD to my MacBook
3. Open in Preview and delete mediocre pics (3)
4. Load the keepers (4 or 5) into the Mac Photo app
5. Do minor corrections (mostly just cropping) to the ones that I feel like need it
6. Upload the 5s to one of my iCloud albums so I can access them from anywhere at any timeThat way there’s no mediocre shots at all in my library
and I can access the best of the best at any time and show them to my friends & family. This process is way different to when I started 5 years ago with my Sony A6000. Back then I would have had 300 shots/day and load them all into the Photo App, leaving a big mess where I could not easily find the diamonds anymore… Now I shoot like 50/day and reduce them to 20 before I load them on my computer.
Less is more!Im happy if I get two or three „5s“ throughout a day of shooting.
While we’re at it, here’s three shots from that „5s“ album, that I think I haven’t shared yet:
November hike at Hirschhörnlkopf (2020)
A walk in the rain
Chicago Runner

@weftyarn The standout image for me is the umbrella. It’s a great image that draws me to and focuses my attention on the subject. I also like that you have framed it well with enough great material in the background that makes it interesting, and which to me strengthens the overall image. Well done!

@Jett129 Thank you for that video! Love the old cars and quite frankly, few new cars excite me the way the old ones do. Absolutely love the chrome, sounds, and just overall design of those greats. I could definitely see spending days there taking pictures. Great cars and backgrounds (architecture).

I love the first one, the lighting is brilliant…..
Thanks, Giles. It's also my favorite. It was a great hike with even greater friends.

I took my camera out today to play around with new film recipes.
When I came back home and took the escalators up from the subway I was amazed by the atmosphere created by lanterns and a hazy fog on the streets. This may be my personal favorite of the year.

Awesome shots of the surfers again, @Jett129
Love the first one… So dynamic!!I'm curious: Have you tried taking a shot at a low shutter speed (1/15 or so) and drawing the camera with the surfer to smooth out the water and keep the surfer sharp?
Only works if the surfer is in a static position like on the last pic but i imagine it would make for an absolutely stunning shot!

I'm getting back into shooting after not really doing anything for the last 2-3 years. I've got a Nikon D750 and a 50mm 1.4g that I'm mostly using. Also have a 24-70 2.8g, but don't use it as much because I want an easy grab and go setup to shoot with and stash in my backpack.

Thinking of moving some of that gear and going mirrorless? What's a good mirrorless setup on the used market these days?
