@Punatnik have you found any downsides to training you do for Schutzhund / IGP?
I'm interested in the sport, but here in Victoria, Australia, it looks like training for the sport would automatically mean they're considered a dangerous dog. :o

Yes…
It is expensive, time consuming and addictive.
But it is cool sport if done correctly.
You want dogs that are active, balanced with high drive.
They may not be ideal companion dogs.
But it goes to any working dogs. ( hunting, herding, sledding).
I manage my working dogs differently than my companion dogs.
But all of them are safe around people and animals.
Good with my kid. -
Fantastic backdrop for a handsome pup @Bums_Fan

Thanks @Punatnik.
I think that there's a worry that training a dog in bite work might make it a bit more bitey. From what I've heard of participants in the sport, it actually makes them less likely to attack. But the public perception remains.
It does look interesting, and I can see where the addiction comes from. I'm not sure how well the breeds I like would take to it.

@Punatnik i can’t imagine the hours you have put into training. I’m struggling with getting my dogs to walk on a leash without pulling.
Lots of articles being written about this dog doing his job.

@Matt looks like she plans to be at eye-eye level with the rest of her family!

@Matt looks like a cat imitation.
Captive audience as I cut steaks. Kids not interested.
