(The Cool Kids All Wear) Band T-Shirts

The Fun House record cover is one of the coolest pieces of album art ever, in my humble opinion. Not to mention their best record
@Jett129 That’s so amazing you got to see em back in the day! I saw them in probably 2005 at Little Steven’s Underground Garage Fest in NY - Ron and Scott were both still alive then, Mike Watt on bass. They destroyed. It’s a day I’ve wished I could return to many a time.

My guilty pleasure…
DAR Constitution Hall Washington, DC. Sept 29, 2004
Warner Theater Washington DC March 14, 2009
The Music Center at Strathmore Bethesda, MD Dec 7, 2012
The Anthem Washington DC. Nov 30, 2017
Merriweather Post Pavilion Columbia, MD Sept 5, 2019
This doesn’t count the two times he cancelled on me and the 1997 show I don’t have a shirt for. I also have this one which was sold by The Salford Lads Club in Manchester. The photo is from the photographer who shot the album cover photos for The Queen Is Dead and proceeds went to the club…

The Stooges are one of my all time favorite bands, saw the original line up in 1969,70 and 71.Saw them at a Small club called Unganos and at The legendary Electric Circus. Saw them open for the MC5 3 times and was a member of the Fan Club…Stoogelings Courageously. Before the band officially took the name Ron Ashton called up Moe Howard of the Three Stooges and asked him if it would be OK,to which he replied call it whatever you want as long as it’s not the fucking Three Stooges. Great shirt by the way.
Dude you're a legend.

@Matt I have that same Morrissey Salford Books shirt. Also, f*ck Morrissey.
-
Yes, he’s awful. But old habits die hard @setandsetting
In his defense (hesitantly) he isn’t any more awful than he used to be. He’s just an older, grumpier more curmudgeonly version of his younger self. We all get old and grumpy, some just do it more spectacularly. And hopefully with less racism.

I grew up in Kissimmee
St. Pete here. But was all over Orlando area for shows quite often. We were probably at a bunch of the same shows.
@chrisjohnnick @Joberwocky you guys would like this.
Did you guys know the song "Just Cheese" is written about a guy that used to go to parties at this house in Pittsburgh? I used to go to parties there too, when I was in High School

Hey @Matt the Morrissey shirts are amazing I love the cat one

Thank you @filthy. I had one from 97 that went by the wayside unfortunately. He played a venue called Michael’s 8th Ave in Glen Burnie, MD. It’s the kind of place you’d have a small prom or a Bar Mitzvah. Those who know the place will find it hard to believe Morrissey played there. I’ll always cherish the memory of him walking out on stage and yelling “Good evening Glen Burnie.” I don’t think he believed he was there.
-
@SKT thank you. That was a great show. I also have an In Rainbows tee that can still easily be found online so not really worth posting. That show was not awesome. It rained like a son of a bitch and it was freezing at the outside venue. The road out of the parking lot flooded and we didn’t leave until 5 am. To this day when something sucks my wife and I say “At least it’s not Radiohead.”
I didn’t see Husker Du but I did meet Bob Mould after seeing Sugar at what is now the 9:30 Club but what was then the WUST Radio Music Hall in DC. He was sitting in the alley out back by himself and bummed a cigarette. Nice guy.
-
The Replacements show I went to was awesome. Superchunk opened. I neglected to get the poster as I had to make the Sophie’s Choice and opted for the tee. I was able to find it about 2 years ago on their website so all’s we’ll that ends well. I posted both a while back in case you didn’t catch it.

Great shirt @Filthy
I used to spend every other weekend in at Pete @chrisjohnnick , my dad had a small sailboat down there right next to the Dali museum -
new, updated artwork from an EP from the early 90s

Small contribution to this topic, i have lots of tees but maybe only 15 from bands, they are not very old, from 10 years ago max i think, i had pretty old ones from "Maiden" "Motorhead" and "Pretty Boy Floyd" but cannot find them since i moved :(.
I know a guy who own a tattoo shop in Belgium called "La Main Bleue", it looks like this guy is in the bands shirts game since forever, he created a page on instagram few months ago where he shares, sells and trades his collection, maybe you could be interested to check it :

Love that Mastadon tee. Mine has been demoted to pajama shirt after excessive wear.
I’d imagine losing a Motörhead tee would be like losing a child. Except I’d look for the tee.
Ahah i have no clue about where my older tees has disappeared, i guess i have lost a box moving from my old home, i have a huge rotation of tees to avoid excessive wear, i would hate seeing them losing their colors quickly :-[.

Still looking good after 15 years of wear ^^
