I just wish they did them in more colours! I got a heather navy one recently which is lovely but I dream (futilely I suspect) of a deep bottle greeen

Came back to add that while I do agree that 3sixteen sweats are of a bit lesser quality, I have really enjoyed the few I have. Despite the fact that I've had a QC issue or two with a couple other items of theirs, I've never had any problems with my hoodies and crews — the indigo dyed fleece is especially soft, highly recommend that one if you're not looking to spend north of 200 bucks on a hoodie.

An update from me - I bought the Rmc loopwheel and (surprisingly) was pretty underwhelmed. Fit for me wasn’t great and felt it was a bit short and overly boxy. While well constructed my immediate thought was that my sda Suvin golds were far more substantial, softer and a much better fit. I picked up the ues puca pucara which arrived today and it is fantastic and a much closer competitor to the sda. Nice fit (sda just shades it), plush soft and well made and constructed.

Which one did you snag, @Pete? I have the 9oz raglan sleeved and the 10oz full zip hoodie. The former is very fitted and just long enough in a L (I'm 6'6" and 190lbs) and the latter is oversized in an XL and I should have gone for a L tbh. Sorry it didn't work out for you! I keep hearing good things about the sweatshirts from SDA.

It was the loopwheel sweatshirt MC13111. It looks beautiful but just felt less substantial than I was hoping for. I don’t have any IH cut and sewn as a comparison but really love the suvin gold line from sda - I have several sweats and hoodies and also a fair few t shirts / henleys. Just a great weight and softness and fit works well - not oversized by any means but not skin tight either.

That one looks like it's the thickness of the 9oz I have. It's … kind of just a thick long-sleeved shirt that's rough on the inside lol. I like the 10oz much more. It's so, so soft and substantial. Then again, it's also hot as hell. Trade offs, right?

Picked up a Studio D’Artisan “Tsuri-ami” sweatshirt from Rivet & Hide last week and I’m really happy with it. Fit is snug (I’m hoping it loosens up just a bit with wear) but not tight. I usually wear a large in most IH shirts and got a large in this as well. Fabric is super nice and heavy feeling, though I’m not sure about the actual weight of the fleece. Curious how this would compare to the Suvin Cotton version. I’m happy and also very pleased with Rivet & Hide…awesome shop. Grateful for this thread…it helped a ton with my search.

That's a great looking sweatshirt — I really dig the collar ribbing detail. Looks like a cozy interior, too. Good score!
And yep, R&H is a great shop. Ace folks.

If you’re looking for athletic, reigning champ and American giant are great choices!

My top grey sweatshirts I've owned are 3Sixteen and Velva Sheen. I really like the thickness and hand warmer pockets for 3Sixteen and the raglan sleeves on the Velva Sheen.

Another for the UES Puca Pucara sweat. Gave up waiting for a non-print IH crewneck, and I am not disappointed. Will be grabbing another most likely. My sweatshirts must be heavy and must have a brushed inner for softness; and UES does not disappoint at all. Fantastic fit as well, generally like a IH sweats in medium and large (3) UES fits great.
