Indigo Invitational Y3
-
I will participate with my 666 XHSiB, but not sure how I'm going to cope up during the summer months. I will give it a try nevertheless.
-
My first thought was to take part with the all new 21oz ib , but as they will not arrive in time I decided to
start with the classic vintage 18oz. I really love the 18oz, and I think the biggest advantage is that it is
wearable almost the complete year. We only have a few really hot days here and even then I normally wear
long pants at work. -
I entered last year and crossed the finish line with a pair of Naked and Famous Elephant 8 21oz. I wore them 300-310 days out of 365 but didn't even make the top 100. I was kind of surprised…the way they did it was top 50 plus 50 more honorable mentions. I thought I would make one of the lists but did not. That is not to mention the abundance of excellent fades from competitors. I just thought mine would make the cut!...
It was still fun to take photos and submit them with my friend who entered with a pair of 77721oz who lives in my town each end of the month. He ended up quitting 7 or 8 months though...
I have an Indigo Invitational pin that I am willing to trade for something small if anyone is interested. It's a blue logo'd enamel pin that came with the Y2 shirt. Let me know if any of you are interested...

@Oaktavia post a pic of those Elephants! I have the 8 too, but got distracted by some other jeans (IH no doubt) and didn't wear them past a certain point. I might go back to em eventually — I liked the denim.
-
Maybe I should have waited to start wearing the stubby type 2 until April. Eh.
-
@Oaktavia
Wow that sounds like a tough competition.
I am sure your pair looked great ! As everything I saw from you so far.
I have no idea how many competitors take part -
I've half a mind to pick up a pair of 666XHSib but man, the Texas heat that lasts basically all the way to (or through) October would make it tough. Plus I don't think I have the commitment to wear the same pair every day.
-
Thinking of 25oz in Texas makes me start sweating immediately
I will try to wear them as much as possible at work.
And my others after work and on the weekends. -
This is my pair of Elephant 8s from Y2.They were featured in a Fade Friday last summer:

Man @Oaktavia those things look great. I’d be curious to see the other photos that made the top 50. Call me cynical but I see a lot of people juking their Lightroom sliders — yours could’ve been too honest
I often wonder how much some photos were/are edited when folks take of their denim. I learned in my non-major photo class that if the viewer can tell the photo was altered, you've gone too far.

@Jcaz6996
They look fantastic !!!
What have you done to keep them "fresh" ? There must be a point when they start smelling, or not ? -
@Daniel San cheers
i soapy soaked them in the bath 4 times in the last 6 months going through the summer months they were a struggle to work in but never really got to a point where they smelled .
