Gosh that looks awesome.
Thank you for sharing and for the pic
I lift weights myself and im getting close to 160 w/ a 40” chest.
Thinking hard about returning and going for a large.
The medium looks so sharp on me IMO but it’s pretty restricting and I worry if that will loosen up anySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Olly what’s your input and experience with this shirt re:sizing and/or button pops?
Hello mate, I go for my standard Western sizing - XL - and the only time the buttons have popped is when I've been riding at 70mph with only two buttons snapped on the bike.. so I just do an extra button up and we're good.

@Olly
sorry to ask, but on almost all western shirts it says you are wearing size L !?
I always order the size you are wearing so I know it will fit , haha -

I always order the size you are wearing so I know it will fit , hahaHello mate, for the lookbook I always wear the L samples, but generally I prefer an XL in the westerns. The exception was the serge military one - the XL swamped me. HMU if you ever have any concerns about sizing. I'm very much XL in the pale rider
-
ah ok, good to know.
thank you Olly -

@jonnyindy Wow, that is a thing of beauty! What a fit

Thanks Guys! To be honest, I went back and forth a bit on this sizing for this one. Initially I ordered a 2XL after trying on Giles’ XL at the trunk show in LA at GAH. It fit well, but I really wanted to layer it like this. So after much back and forth with the IH team (they promised I didn’t register on the PITA scale…) I returned the 2XL and got this 3XL, and it’s perfect
For reference, I’m 6’1”, 210lbs and I’m wearing a 36 waist in those 301S’.

Fit looks great. Seems like the right size.

@jonnyindy Congrats on the fit man! Got it spot on! Looking awesome. And I bet you feeling comfy.

Kept the medium
No layering With western shirts. But it looks good w/ 11oz teeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey @goosehd , I’m curious to hear about your fit experience with the big buck and pale rider. I’ve combed through both threads and you picked up an xl in both, right?
I also own the big buck (size L) and I’m considering snagging the pale rider too. When I made my big buck purchase I requested a specific measurement so the good folks at ihuk gave me the dimensions of the entire shirt. Below are the measurements for my big buck size L vs the pale rider L. The L big buck sizing seems to correspond more closely with the XL pale rider. Seeing how some are on the fence about sizing, I was curious to get your thoughts. For reference, I’m a L in IH westerns and work shirts. My L big buck seems a tad too big in the shoulders and sleeve length. So I’m wondering if the L pale rider will work. I don’t intend to layer it. Just a t-shirt or thermal underneath.
Appreciate your insights. You look good in both. From my eye, I can see how the pale rider might be more narrow in the shoulders and chest.

Thanks for sharing the pics and measurements!
Really makes me feel great about getting the medium
I don’t plan on laying either but I can comfortably fit a 11oz Iron Heart tee underneath
It’s still molding and flexing to my body so I imagine little more stretchSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Kirk You are correct in both of my shirts are XL and I love them both. When thinking about sizing you have to consider that these are hand made and that each shirt may have minor differences in sizing.
When I purchased the Big Buck from IH, I was lucky and placed my order with enough XL’s in stock that I requested a specific measurement in both chest and shoulder, and as usual they nailed it. Out of the bag it is one of my best fitting shirts I own and for the best part, the material is very forgiving and stretches/forms at ease with wear. My only small gripe is that the cuff’s were just a little tight to wear buttoned wearing a watch. That only lasted for about a week’s worth of wear and now fits wonderfully.
Re: the pale rider. I was on the fence about buying it, hesitated about purchasing another leather item, and lost out on buying it from IH. The moment I did know it was too late, I started working through the retailer list to see if anyone had one in stock.
The shop out of Vancouver had one and I immediately purchased it. However, since they only had one I couldn’t pick and choose regarding specific measurements.
Out of the bag, it is tighter in the shoulders, just about perfect in the chest, and the cuffs are perfect. The material is stiff and needs wear to get it to drape correctly. As mentioned previously, I’m 10/11 wears and the results get better with every wear.
Both of these shirts will tell stories with time and break in, shape, patina, to each individual. It’s part of the fun and a great way to recall your own stories and adventures.
