Giles and Paula's Great Retirement Adventure

@Madame Buttonfly and I took the boat out, for the first time on our own, today.
We motored to the fuel jetty, moored up and filled her with fuel, motored 10 miles east, anchored up, had lunch and returned home.
No Gelcoat lost…...
We'll take that....

…El Capitan(s)!

Thanks all for your good wishes - last week was pretty tough, especially the night passage, it was way past my bedtime and I struggled!
Going out on our own for the first time on Saturday was amazing, and I successfully "parked" Pilgrim on our return

BOOM. We passed

It’s lovely there isn’t it

On my way down to Cornwall on Saturday night, I was musing about boat names.
We have a candidate name for the new boat, but there are some permissions we need to get before we can be sure it will work. Let's call it XYZ, for the moment.
Anyway, I came up with the following, which Paula has given me permission to use on the tender…..
"The Sea-Word", (Tender To to XYZ)......

Now that was bloody tight. And with 20-25 knots of wind coming over the starboard quarter, I would be lying if I claimed that I was not bricking it. @Madame Buttonfly , bless her, offered to take the wheel because she didn't mind as much as me if she stuffed it…...
