Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural

I still need one in 4xl. What a great piece!

Hello, All. Trying out my first post here. I'm relatively new to the brand but went big this year and bought a pale rider (huge shoutout to VMC in Zurich who was willing to ship the last 4X I could track down to Denver). I've mostly been wearing this around the house the last months (such a hot summer) and it's starting to develop some patina, especially where it hits my raws. Anyhow, a couple of questions for those who have been wearing this regularly:
-
Has the shedding from the shaved inside dissipated with time? Any tips or tricks? I thought about hitting it with a lint roller because it just isn't slowing that quickly and my wife thinks I look like I've been doing woodwork some days.
-
Any recs on conditioners? Rationale and pics would be so great. Graham informed me IH sells both Obenaufs and Mustang Paste/Oil but I have no experience with either.
Thanks in advance. And once I get the hang of the forum I'll try to post some photos of my steed! It's been really cool seeing the ones posted.
Cheers

@mikesantor good thought. We used to make this:

Amazing! Thanks, Alex.

I didn't hear back on conditioner recs beyond Graham's so I talked with Simmons and they felt OK with using Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP. The process was nerve racking and I feel a little like I got off an actual horse because it took about 2.5 hours. Very happy with the end result though. Here are some before shots, active process and final product. I'd take another outside pic but it's currently snowing.

Test
Used a section of an old shirt and some elbow grease
After (I'm in love with a horse)

@Jcaz6996 Thanks! I think it's personal preference but I did so for two reasons: 1) I live in a high desert, dry climate and saw some indication of dryness and 2) I almost was caught in a rain storm and I read the bees wax/propolis should offer some water repellent.
In a cursory perusal of leather websites I saw a lot of discussion about conditioning every 3-6 months. Personally, that seems overkill to me. Like I said, it takes LONG time to cover the whole shirt (esp. my 4X).
The final photo is a little darker than reality. I'll try to post another on a nice sunny day outside soon.
Cheers!

time for some care.. post pics to follow.

I just did my Y2 kakishibu with MP and a little went a long way. That said my jacket is still fairly new but I wanted to condition it bc I had done some sun tanning with it.

Stoked to see how yours turns out dude. My Type III version is still untreated. I wanted to wait and see what some of you guys choose to use as treatment and how it turns out before I choose one for mine. Mustang past was high on that list…
-
much darker in photos I reckon. but they're slightly softer.. hand applied.

No timeline just yet, we are working through our back orders with SB, then will rerun this.
Any update to this? Been going back and forth since drop. Its there and im resisting, then im good to go and its sold out. I should just buy it to end this madness.
