@Skelly An educated guess based on my experience would be XXL, but it really depends on how you're built. I wear XXXL in Type3s, and have an XXL N1.
Ok good info. Thanks so much.
I have a wide back and full chest with a bit of a gut lol. Id say I'm a "muscular dad bod" lol
Skelly, lol at the "muscular Dad bod". This is probably a great jacket for that since it's not as tapered as other IH jackets like the Type III. I'm not sure if you ever got yours, but I can also confirm that I wear a 2XL in IH Type IIIs, and I found that an XL was a perfect fit in the IHM-35-ODG. XXL was a bit too big in the chest and too long in the arms, and I have long arms to begin with. My XL IHM-35 is big enough to layer a t-shirt and a UHF underneath and it's not hard to get on over those layers.

Wore my N1 on the motorcycle again yesterday. Blocks the wind so well and the 2-way zip is clutch for comfort.

Not sure what kind of fit you’re looking for, but that looks perfect to my eye Skelly

Hey guys…I am fairly new to Iron Heart but have amassed a nice little collection in the last few months. I have been on the fence about the N1 Deck Jacket for a few weeks because I couldn't decide on the sizing. I don't tend to layer under heavy jackets and prefer a slimmer fit. I am 5'10" around 168 lbs and wear a Size L UHF western.
I reached out for advice and both IH customer service and TJ at the Shop recommended sizing down to the Medium. I noticed the measurements for the Olive version tend to be (ever so slightly) roomier and that was my preferred color, so I was able to find the jacket in stock at Rivet & Hide and finally pulled the trigger. 48 hours after placing the order the jacket was delivered to my house in the US on a Saturday morning no less and in a word it is BRILLIANT.
This is not only my favorite piece of Iron Heart gear but just may be the nicest piece of clothing I have ever owned. Everything is impeccable. The fit is perfect. The color is exactly what I was looking for and (living in Colorado) it is very very warm over just a T-Shirt and I do still have room to layer a thin flannel or sweatshirt. If anyone is on the fence...please don't hesitate...it is a true gem in the IH lineup! I will post some more fitment pics when my wife gets home:)

Looks and sounds exceptional! I don't have need for such a warm jacket with the current UK climate but should I ever move to somewhere much cooler, this would be at the top of my To Buy list.
Enjoy it

Giles, I tried one of these one the other day and loved the design, fabric, color, and details. But I passed because I thought the sleeves were long. But it sounds like this is intended in the design. Is this because they tend to ride a little higher with use or because longer sleeves are useful for certain activities, like riding a motorcycle. Not questioning, just interested in learning something, thanks.
Also, regarding sizing, I typically wear an XL in IH shirts, but the XL N-1 seemed big. Is it common to size down in this or other IH jackets? Sorry for the newb questions.

YMMV, I go with large UHFs but picked this up in a medium. But that's just to wear over a T shirt or thermal. If I wanted to layer, I would have taken my UHF size.

The sleeves on most things IH are long. This is so that when you are riding a motorcycle the arms do not ride up too far, it is intentional. With the deck jackets, the storm cuff tends to stop the cuff from falling too far down the hand if you are short-armed.
Some jackets run large some small, there is no golden rule…..
