IH-555-XHSBB - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super-Slim Cut Jeans - Black/Black
-
Hey @Heavy_blue ! Only about 9 months, but not every day, maybe once or twice a week cause I get too tempted by other pairs. Love this denim so much though, wish I could commit to wearing more like every day! Really do like the 555!
-
@Crease they are really nice! And i feel you i have two 555’s in rotation the slub and the UHR and i’m tempted by this beast..
-
I know this is all old news to everyone here but I’m new to IH and still just geeking out over everything about these so I did some comparison shots to show how different the XHSBB and the regular indigo XHS are, they’re so different I actually emailed IH wondering if I had a mislabeled pair haha. It’s so cool that the fibers being dyed different colors can create such a different feel and texture even though they’re the same weight
XHSBB have about 2 months of wear and still keep their shape when I take them off, they’re real smooth and stiff and crunchy, the XHS have 3 days of wear and they’re super soft and floppy with a rough hand, they don’t really keep their shape at all when I take them off. The BB have a much higher rise and slightly slimmer leg. It’s also hard to tell here but the back pockets on the indigo pair are way smaller, but the front pockets have wayyy more room.
This is the craziest thing though. The indigo pair is like half as thick as the BB when folded up.

@Gothxjock welcome mate! every pair is one on it’s own. And the way each denim has been treated gives every a uniqueness to it. For example my 555 slubby has a other rise then my 555 UHR. The way the bb has been dyed is other then the normal xhs for example there is another layer of dye on it so it’s less breathable and thicker then a normal xhs so there is another breaking in process then with the normal xhs. Look on the website and you’ll see that there are no 555 measurements the same on every pair. On the other hand when the difference is a inch or more maybe there is something else going one. My suggestion would be: rock em as hard as possible:)

Grabbed a pair of these as a backup. Save them for a few years. On clearance it’s hard to beat.
My 777BB pair is close to the perfect pair of 25oz
-
Nice @kkibbey23 how is your 777 fading? Thinking about grabbing one 2!
-
Just orderd.. was a long time lurker for this pair.. since it is not going to be made anymore i took the shot and will throw it in rotation with my 555 UHR and my 777 21ib! Will throw some pics when it had arrived!

These are really starting to get that sexy “Touch of Grey”!
2 or 3 washes now. -
Looking good especially with that wabby shirt!
-
Thanks guys! I've instituted a mainly denim dress code here at work!
-
Denim dress code is the way to go @Crease i’m in my XHSbb again. Not a lot of wear since my 21ib get’s more attention
-
Just gave mine a second soak & with woolite dark after spending a week with friends in a house full of dogs climbing all over me and slobber… 2 below.
-
Haha @mikebarhoot love to see more photos of this denim. I love mine but hardly see others online.
-
@Oaktavia yours had faded so gooood mate! I’m wearing mine again since this week in rotation with 21ib but due the colder temps i’m more in XHS! So will fade these badboys!

I will say I think the reason mine faded the way they did was starting with soaks in a tub when they were dirty (with detergent) and being super careful to keep the knees bent backwards so that the combs folds stayed in place during the soak. From there, I propped the hems up and made sure the combs folds stayed slightly folded while they were laid to dry on top of bath towels. From there, multiple machine washes and wearing 4-5 days a week to about 140 wears helped achieve a mixture of contrast and vintage fades, which is what I aim for with my jeans…hope that makes sense.

@Oaktavia great info mate! Thanks
-
@Oaktavia what kind of detergent did you use?
