IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
@alexpupin hope they are dry before the weekend
-
People who soak to get rid of chemicals I totally get that…I know there’s starch but are there really any “chemicals“ on IH jeans? Curious to know.
-
I think @Giles refers to the “chemicals” as a finishing agent… which is different from starch.
This all from memory… pretty sure I read this info here, and I’m pretty sure G will correct me/enlighten us.
-
The IH-634 (non-selvedge version) have some Haraki san fade retarding magic applied to them. But apart from that, any stuff in the denim is just sizing agent (usually starch)

Thanks for including the link @Giles. Always enjoy the little glimpses into the production process!

Very cool @Giles

@Heavy_blue
It’s Saturday morning, the beasts are bone dry (took 24+h) and ready to break in.After the warm soak the fabric shrank ½ in at the waist, same at the inseam, as planned.
I must have developed trained thumbs as I hardly had any issues buttoning up, nothing compared to my first UHR.
Anyway, oh boy, these are stiff jeansWalking around makes the distinctive heavy denim clonk flop clonk flop sound, but after half an hour of shuffling the top block already feels comfortable and fits like a glove.
I have to get used to the slightly lower rise of the 666 compared to the 634 cut, but I still have to let the denim stretch more in every direction.
Now, out for a long walk!
Here are a few pics I took of the first wear after the soak.

@alexpupin dang dude sharp fit. And the Kersey FTW!!
-
Thanks @Autorotate
The Kersey shirt is killer. Deepest blue hues of all.Thanks everyone for all the suggestions regarding soaking.
-
@alexpupin amazing my man! I just got a 666 in as well! Already my favorite cut for sure!
-
@alexpupin Looks like you’re ready to give ‘em hell! Great fit
-
Decided to give these another go. I sold my smaller pair a few years ago. Loving the 666 cut right now
-
@SKT I ain’t much of a model, I’m as natural as a lamp post
-
A bit of a random question but does anyone know if there is a difference between 25 oz indigo and the 25 oz mega beatle buster? And if so, what is it? Thanks!
-
@Matt Oh really, so they’re basically the same pair of jeans. Had no idea. Thanks so much.

Noob here so bare with me... I am wearing 666 cut. Tag size 32 in all the 21oz ones and want to get the IH-666-XHS however the sizing difference in measurements and shrinking kinda scares me. According to the description you loose 1 inch on the waist and inseam but waist screeches back. I am guessing that 1 inch shrinking is on everywhere not only waist and inseam. So sizes I should be considering on IH-666-XHS?

@aliengin I have looked at your order history with us, and I see you have two pairs of 666s from us. I am going to work on the basis that you are talking about the IH-666S-21, and that you are happy with how they fit you. If either of those assumptions is wrong, let me know and we can tweak the logic.
Your IH-666S-21 had an actual waist of 32.5" when they shipped to you. They are likely to have stretched to 33.5" with wear now (though you can of course confirm this by measuring them the IH way).
With that in mind, if I were you I would be looking to purchase a tag 32 IH-666-XHS, and to ask the team when placing your order to look for a pair with an actual waist of as close to 33.5" as possible so that once you soak and wash them, they will have shrunk to about 32.5". Then with wear they should stretch back out to 33.5" and fit like your current IH-666S-21.
