IH-721-KHA - 9oz Mercerised Selvedge Cotton Slim Tapered Chinos - Khaki

Happy to report these didn't shrink at all when soaked in cold water and washed at 30° C with low spin thereafter. The material tightened up but relaxed to its previous state quickly after some wear. I am very happy because they are already perfect in length (and everywhere else) and there is no room for shrinkage for me. Also looking forward to the olive iteration and hoping I can snag it as well. The 721 cut is golden and they are brilliant trousers overall. Don't sleep on them, people!
Some bonus shots

I'm considering getting these pants and as usual I have sizing questions:
1. I'm on Tag size 31 on my IH 666S-21 and when compared against this, I should go with Tag size 32. Is that correct?
2. I've read from other messages in this thread that this pant will not shrink. I will primarily use it for office which means it will see the wash cycle more often. I have had other chino pants and they have considerably shrunk after several washer over a period of 6 months. How about this one? Will the size stay the same say after a couple of years with say 365 washes?
3. Will there be an olive version of this soon?

I imagine your 666S-21 would have stretched since you first bought them so I'd always advise giving them a measure to be sure of your current "actual" waist size.
The fabric has already been one-washed so little to no shrinkage to be expected. I have the sample pair and they've not shrunk (that I've noticed) after several machine washes.
AFAIK no plans for the 721-OLV at the moment.

I just measured the IH 666S-21 and they stand around 85.5 cm on the waist as against the original size of 82.3 when new. They are a snug fit for me now. So going with this, my question would be should I get this in Tag size 32 assuming that they will stretch the same in the waist like the 666S-21?

@jothishan Unless you need input from other forum members, it is best to ask this sort of question at shop@ironheart.co.uk, then the answer can be handled by the customer service team….

Received this today! There is a massive feel to the quality of this material. I have purchased several Chinos in the past over the years and this one feels worlds apart from the rest! The fit is top notch and this is a perfect office wear for my tastes. Hope this fabric lasts long for the price point!

@jothishan I couldn’t agree more. My first experience is similar to yours. I absolutely love these chinos. Best fitting pair I’ve ever owned hands down. Having never felt or seen in person it felt like a bit of a dice roll when I bought but so happy I did.

So has anyone who have owned these for a bit experienced any stretch at all?

None for me so far….nothing noticeable anyways.

I just started wearing them since I got them in April. I will wash them over the weekend and get back here!

FWIW @xtcclassic these are the king of all Chino's for me…. best Chino's I've found hands down. The 721 cut is easily the best fit for me in any chino I've tried and the 9oz mercerized cotton chino cloth is second to none. Of course fit is subjective but these are money. I've tried Chinos from many other brands and while there are some nice Chinos out there from other brands these are the one's I would pick over them all....not that you were necessarily shopping other brands but just my two cents.
These don't get nearly enough love and I hope Giles/Alex/H and crew consider other colors in these ....specifically olive, charcoal/grey or dark brown

I haven't noticed any stretch but may be a very minimal shrinkage but it is very negligible. I really like the way this one fits my slim profile! Hands down the best chinos I've ever had!

Just to follow up on this question you can get some stretch out of these. I have had the black pair for a while now and they came in a little bit larger in the waist at around 34.5" on my tag size 34. Since that's about my waist size anyways I didn't think I got any stretch out of that pair because there wasn't much to stretch so it gave me the impression that these didn't have any give to them.
I just picked up the Khaki pair from SE last week and the tag size 34 came in quite a bit smaller in the waist at 33.5". I almost thought they were going to be too tight but I wore them for one day and they have already stretched one inch in the waist. So yes, fortunately it does look like you can get some stretch out of these.

And again…great fucking pair of Chino's..the best actually. I can't give enough praise to the 721 cut and the mercerised fabrics that IH uses for their Chino's. Second to none.

Any chance this will get a run in army green? Love the khakis, but IH already has my blacks and blues covered with jeans, so greens would be a must buy.
C’mon guys you know you want to
