IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk
-
Finally picked up a pair for the Indigo Invitational on Facebook through Godspeed. I was worried about sizing up to 36 for these or that they would be too similar to my 18oz double indigos. They are a completely different beast!

They were all covered in mud so I hosed them off and did another hand wash. I didn't get all the mud off unfortunately. But I hope maybe that they will shed some dirt after wearing them for a while because I do not want to machine wash them.
-
I’d hand wash them again and just let them soak for a while in the soapy water to get all the mud out. They look great though.
-
I am just gonna roll with it I think.

It seems like most of the dort should come off eventually. They don't smell at least.
-
Wtf is dort?

Looking better everyday @Filthy
Thanks. I am bummed the honeycombs shifted a little from the last wash because the denim seems to have thickened up…. But as fast as the jeans fade they should still look pretty great. I had been working in them and got them covered in mud. But now I think I am going to go easier on them so I don't have to wash them as often.

I think they are already the best looking pair I've ever owned. The denim is so dang pleasurable to look at and wear. They are getting a bit hot to wear now though.
-
That's an example of why I think it's absolutely pointless to wear a new pair of jeans for any length of time without washing them, whether unsanforized or sanforized, raw or one-wash. Washing may have some effect on the jeans' color, texture, etc. but so what? if you are gonna wash them at some, just wash them carefully before you start wearing them so you don't run into any surprises in the future.
The exception being if you plan to NEVER EVER wash them. That's gross.
-
@Filthy regardless of my opinionated comments, your pair is looking great. The color of the denim is stunning.
Mine are still in the paper bag w/ tags on. I'm still committed to my DWC2 888-NT's for the next few months.

It was that it was only 2 weeks between washing I think.

I was worried at first about washing my denim because of the plethora of folks who say to wait as long as possible… but wearing these things in the summer makes 2 weeks without a wash about the max otherwise I’ll smell like a bog. NYC is dirty too so that doesn’t help
