IHJ-54-BLK - Japanese Horsehide Rider's Jacket with Collar - Black (Tea-Core Dye

Definitely works perfectly both layered and here just with the tee. Nicely done. I look forward to seeing more photos as the jacket breaks in and gains patina. Please don't forget us, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see the progress, @Bulatik85 !

yes, I will post pictures after some wear.
now I am waiting for the suitable weather conditions, I live in cold climate(during the winter season), so need to wait for warmer days… ::)couple of questions, since this is my fist horsehide leather jacket:
the leather is "not soft"(don't know correct english word for this characteristic) out of the box, this is might not be the correct description, because it is soft in general, but still has some "carton feel", I believe it is common for horsehide leather and it will break in with wear.
from the patina point of view, does this leather created to have patina? like tea core leathers? of cause any leather would have some patina with wear, but just wondering if this leather specially made to gain patina quicker? -
Job well done @Bulatik85 , you got that fit spot on!
Given that this is the same leather as the IHJ-35, it definitely starts out slightly stiff but quickly softens up. Regarding patina, this version hasn't been out for long enough but @DrPat and @Max Power had some great patina shots in the IHJ-35 thread. Below is the most recent patina post.

Works brilliantly with the hoodie layer yo.

A few shots of the jacket on the way out this morning. If anyone cares also: IH-634, Levis shirt, Vaurnet rx glasses, and that's our brand new pup below, Neela.

^ Superb jacket @profdbrk and Neela the puppy is gorgeous ^

Has everyone ordered the same size as their shirts?
If so, can you fit an UHF underneath?
I’d like to layer but moving up a size throws some numbers out of whack. -
I wear XXL UHFs and have an XL jacket. I can wear it over a UHF but can't really zip it up with any degree of comfort, plus extra snug through the sleeves anyway. The jacket is fairly fitted and not really something I would wear over a UHF - plenty of other options if I want to layer as such.
However I think there are others for whom this layering works well, just not for me.
-
Can anyone in a size small chime in? I want to pull the trigger but I’m afraid the shoulder and sleeve numbers add up too long for me.
Also, is everyone able to fully zip the sleeves or is the thickness of the gusset obtrusive? -
It’s on the way to me now. Thanks all who have contributed to the thread and pushed me over the edge.
-
I will be more articulate tomorrow. Today let me just say WOW!
-
That’s a beauty. I’ve been eyeballing the SE version without the side gussets for awhile [emoji848]

This jacket is the one that got away from me. Excellent fit on the jacket, @Bfd70

@gaseousclay my $0.02 go with the IH version. I was considering SE as well because i thought it looked cleaner and i wouldn’t use the side gussets. However, on delivery i’ve found this is a trim jacket when sized correctly. The side gussets allow enough adjustment so it is comfortable zipped with a tshirt and unzipped with an UHF. Completely functional. Also, since they are set pretty far back you can’t actually see them when worn.
