IHJ-85-BLK - Waterproof Harrington-Style Windbreaker Jacket – Black

I’m contemplating the IHJ-85 BLK with a Type IV yellow/black Iron to the Bone patch or a Type I IH The Works patch over the left chest/heart area. Wondering if it will look good, or take something away from the Harrington Style. Thoughts?

I just received the IHJ-85-BLK in the mail today, and it really is an outstanding piece. I am now very tempted to find a Navy.
I often fall between sizes, and opted to size down. Thank you for the help @Chesson. The fit is perfect, and even received high praise from the missus.
10/10!

Just ordered the Small tag size. I’m 5 foot 9 and around 11 stone unclothed. Hoping it fits well. Went for the Good Art HLYWD button upgrade which I’m hoping is available. The jacket reminds me of the aftermath of Quadrophenia when there were loads of mods around. If it fits ok I’ll try and do some photos. An excellent idea to bring out a high quality Harrington. We are the mods!

Great article on Wiki outlining the history of the Harrington. It may be of interest to the forum that there’s a a couple of references on the popularity of the jacket in Japan and the “dense cotton count of the originals meant they already had this quality (water repellency) at a higher price point.” I’m not an expert on materials or weaving however a modern cotton production would certainly be interesting.
Looking at the modern G9 it’s now a 50/50 poly cotton mix. A classic design however looks a bit dated compared to the Iron Heart version in my opinion. The Tom Ford Quantum of Solace Harrington mentioned looked like a great interpretation however from memory it was close to £2,000. I couldn’t spend that on a Harrington!

Received the jacket today and I’m really pleased with it. The Raglan sleeves give it a pared back look adding to the overall Harrington style which I really like. Pimped it with the Good Art silver button which really stands out against the black backcloth. Photos are selfies taken with an iPhone so please excuse the quality. Need to upgrade to a full frame camera.
