Has anyone here run the San Fransisco marathon? Was considering it, a little pricey compared to most marathons but I guess everything is a little pricey in SF.

Did a route on Sunday that I've wanted to do for awhile - two laps around Portsmouth. Went anti or counter clockwise first, then stopped at home to refill bottles and went back around the other way. Was a really good time.

You could do both parks in 90 mins. Hyde bugger and more famous landmarks, Battersea bit more neighbourhood-y with more of a good road around it.

Anyone going for the new vaporfly 3 or garmin 965? I just got the alphafly so no need for new shoes but that amoled screen is making my 945 look pretty dim.

I broke down and got an Apple Watch mainly to use as a phone whilst running or any outdoor activities. The heart monitors, pace features, and screen brightness are nice.
I still love mechanical watches though and wear them more than the Apple, but it definitely is nice for sports.

Had to skip some marathon training a couple weeks back due to flu. Was a bit daunted by a 19 miler this weekend but enjoyed it immensely and was happy with my pace. Maybe my legs were feeling fresh from the brief pause in training, but I felt like I had more in the tank and feel less intimidated by the prospect of an extra 7 miles to hit the marathon distance. I’ll be overjoyed if I can maintain this pace come race day and hit a sub 4-hour.

@Nik I recently got some Saucony speed 3s and am really happy with them. I noticed a massive improvement on my speed when I moved over to them. I’d love to try some of the Vapor or alphafly to see what they do for me, but suspect I’m too much of a plodder for them to do much for me.
I’ve yet to get a running watch but might reward myself for completing the marathon. I want to maintain my running after I’ve completed it, and hope that a new gadget will keep me motivated.@AdamC thank you! It’s really encouraging when you see effort converted to something tangible. I’m going to attempt a 22 miler this weekend before tapering down, then we’ll see what I’m really made of . I’m juvenile when it comes to calories burned - just see it as permission to gorge for the rest of the day

@Nik I run the Vaporfly 2 and Alphafly 1 in races and for the key workouts. Tempted to go for the Vaporfly 3 but will wait for some reviews. I love the 2‘s and if they go on sale I will get another pair.
Speed days I run the Takumi Sen 8 or Saucony Speed 3. For easy and recovery days it depends on my mood
I have the 955 so won’t upgrade although I am a bit pissed that they just released the 965 after only 9 months or so… -
I work for a local running store in the DMV area and luckily, I have a great relationship with our Nike Rep. I got a pair of the Vaporfly 3s to test and honestly didn't feel much difference from the 2's. The new Endorphin Elite's are probably my favorite carbon plated shoe that I've ever had, but all thesuper shoes are pretty subjective. The new Garmin Forerunner line is interesting, I upgraded to a Fenix 7 a couple months ago, I considered getting an Epix as it is just the same watch but with an amoled screen. Ended up choosing the Fenix because the battery life was so much better. The amoled does look so much better, but I think I will always chose battery life, but that's just me.

Tried out my District Vision kit, think it’ll be good for race day on 2 April in Paris

I visited the Tracksmith London pop up on Saturday hoping they would have the grey 'Amateur' tee but apparently they are sold out everywhere. Will be cool when they have a permanent London shop, although I think DV's style is a bit more playful

Have a great run! Paris for me tomorrow
