@Mizmazzle yes I am waiting on a V2 and might go with the same size with that one too, not sure. Maybe one size down with the lining would work better
-
Looks great would be cool to have two in different sizes
-
@Mizmazzle yes, they are worth the wait and the hype does hold water. I dig the V1 quite a bit and like that I can layer with it, being on the larger side and unlined make it perfect for a CPO or a UHF underneath.
I am leaning towards sizing down one with the V2, since it has a lining. I do not think I will use it as a layering/outer shell piece. I feel super fortunate to be able to eventually own both versions and to wear them differently.
If you're interested in what the waxed fabric feels like, there are Wills hats available on their website. I have three of them, as well as the waxed tote bag and their little pouch I use as a pencil case.

Finally got my Wills in. Super happy with the custom measurements. Went with an XL (normally I buy American stuff in a large), and got some length taken off the sleeves and center back as I have dumb proportions. I still think the sleeves are just slightly too long but that should get just about perfect once the sleeves start stacking.
Love every bit of this jacket with a couple exceptions: the two-way zip is a little finnicky (you really have to grip both zipper pulls tight together and make sure the zipper is seated firmly before you can zip it up), and the lining is very nice but kind of highlights that somewhat gross waxy feeling at the unlined cuffs. Really just minor things and I won't care after a while.
I was worried about it being too heavy to be practical, or too non-breathable, but while stiff it's not all that heavy and is quite easy to wear. It's not exactly breathable, but does a good job keeping rain and wind out (already tested). Also, because it's so stiff, it doesn't drape close to the skin but rather sits in the shape it wants, which kind of allows for more airflow between the jacket and the skin than you'd expect (e.g., in the sleeves). Can't wait for this thing to break in.
Unzipped:
Gratuitous "it stands up on its own!" shot:

@iamntbatman Nice! Looks like it fits perfectly. I have a V1 and wish it had the 2 way zipper and lining.
-
@iamntbatman excellent! Congratulations
I’m in group 19 and I think they are finally getting close lol !! -
@iamntbatman The sleeves on mine are a bit long too, but have shortened a bit with the stacking/combs, as you predicted. I'd rather the jacket be a little on the big size than too small. Yours looks good. How does it look from the side?
-
@iamntbatman congrats dude!! Stoked!!! Just a couple more years and I’ll get to share this experience with y’all!!

@Salted-Racer I was in G16 and if I had to guess, mine was made at the very end of the G16 run as it was a custom fit. I also read (on the SJ IG I believe) that they had halted Wills production for a minute there because they were waiting on backordered zippers. Mine got shipped within a day or so of making the final payment so I'm guessing there were a lot of jackets sitting around waiting for zippers but otherwise finished. I wouldn't be surprised if your G19 jacket comes pretty soon.
@Oaktavia sorry I'm home in pajamas now with bad lighting but I'll snap some side-view pics tomorrow. It's "snug" but not at the same time, if that makes sense - due to the rigidity of the fabric I have to kind of pull harder to get the sides together to zip it up, but once zipped it feels like there's plenty of room. I can fit a hoodie under it no problem. I could probably do another layer, too, but that would be getting kind of snug. I definitely put on some weight the past few months that (hopefully, hah) will be coming off soon, which would make that additional layer even more comfy.
