IH-526J-142OD - 14oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III - Overdyed Indigo

Looks to me like it would work best over a single layer. Thin sweaters, henley’s, tee’s etc. the 3XL may be too roomy in the body.
Yes - that’s what I’m afraid of. I really don’t want the boxy oversized look. Might pull the trigger on this one in xxl. It’s a beautiful jacket!! [emoji7]

Thanks for helping me spend my money well! Just committed To this beauty in size XXL and it fits like a glove! Can’t wait to see how it develops over time!!

@Asger Ebdrup Great fit!!

New in: was considering a black Type 3 for ages. The market is really small, when considering that it also should have handwarmer pockets:-) Based on specs and pictures, I was not sure if it will be black enough, but the fabric is really black if not exposed to direct sunlight. Then you can see the blue shining through, which actually looks really cool.
Also I feared that it might be too light for me (being biased by wearing too much heavy denim for too long) It turns out however that the weight is just perfect and the fabric has a heft, which clearly screams „I am Iron Heart“
I wanted a slightly oversized fit compared to my traditional options to layer as much as I want, but it also looks cool with just a tee. I think after the fabric has settled a bit, it will get even better. Now I want to wear it non-stop through spring and produce some (hopefully killer) fades. Unfortunately I could not find many broken in pictures on the web. Looks like this one is a bit underappreciated

Looks sick @beef_bonanza !

@Ross Thank you. Being my first OD piece, I find it most fascinating how the colour is changing from a dark, dull black to shiny blue depending on the light. Can't wait to put serious wait on it and see it fading:-)

This one is next on my shopping list. Studying the measurements atm and trying to figure out if i need to size up from my corduroy type III...
-
@lengis I sized up 1 size from my UHF size, if this is some sort of help: however mine fits on the loser side, as I want to fit Iron Heart hoodies below and still be able to close it easily
-
@beef_bonanza Thanx, I prefer a more snug fit but it's of course nice to be able to layer up with an UHF. I will probably go with the same size as my UHF's and my IHJ-69 (L).
@Ross Thanx! I might take you up on that

Not much going on yet, but the fabric is already starting to settle. I mentioned it before, but this weight and fabric seems just to be perfectly matching for a Type 3
-
Hard as f*ck to capture the colour of this stuff. Depending on lightning it can change between bold black and dark blue. However I have some first progress coming in after 3 weeks of light wear. The black seems to fade rather quickly.

I just pulled the trigger on this jacket, my first from IH! Can't wait for it to arrive. I'm an OD fanboy 100%! I find the OD jeans evolve so uniquely. Nice pics @beef_bonanza
-
@beef_bonanza I see what you mean I have the same issue with my 142ib.
Nice evo btw
-
@Salted-Racer the first of many! Never look back! IH army all the way dude
-
@Heavy_blue Hell yeah!!
-
@beef_bonanza Beautifl fades - denim addiction galore haha

Can‘t remember that I have ever enjoyed a jacket so much. Fit might be a bit loser than the classic slim fit style for Type 3’s. But I wanted to fit even the thickest sweater I own (of course IH) underneath.
Bit more than 2 months in. Some slight evo ongoing but all in all still kind of new. No break in required at all.

Hi, I'm just wondering if it's suppose to be like this? during the weekend that was I took my jacket with me and it was kinda warm so I decided to fold up the arms a bit and when I got home and folded it back I noticed that the stiches had been torn a bit but it feels weird. Should I try and have the stiches fixed and avoid folding it up in the future?

Hi @K, I wouldn't be worried. It's just a little bit of extra stitching that will come off over time. As you can see just above, there is a lock-off stitch to stop it from becoming fully unstitched, and where they should have stopped, it's just where guys have put the jacket together. They have slightly overrun it, so i wouldnt be worried. If are you can always give me a direct message on here and I will be here to help.
