Wax Treasure (Vinyl)

@GraemeE yep that’s the one. Plus Eddie Vedder in Hovercraft.
-
Best REM of the 90s here.
-
Was in the mood for this. Bought this Vinyl originally when it came out in 1984. Seen him several times live. Forgot about and rediscovered. Still audibly :-).

Do you guys dig Sparks? I’ve got tickets for June.

More Sparks

@setandsetting it took 20+ years of all of my friends trying to get me into them but it wasn't until around 2 year ago that they "clicked" with me.
Now I'm a believerIt was a single moment in that andy Warhol doc when #1 song in heaven came on - suddenly my brain was ready to dive into a good chunk of their cataloge
-
@GraemeE , I like that "toys in the attic".. and for $2 , no brainer.. clean them ,spin them ..
-
@steelydan exactly

That'a a good story! Didn't remember them from the doc. "Angst in My Pants" was in a recent episode of Yellowjackets on Showtime. I got into Sparks because I was having a slow day at the record store by my house last year and they had cheap copies of Indiscreet and Propaganda so I bought both. I vaguely knew that friends had mentioned them but I was really blown away by both.

I think Shot of Love is the winner from the above haul.
-
@setandsetting I think I'd have to agree with you on that one - I was honestly hoping for more out of the clamtones from 77 because I like the record they did with the holy modal rounders and michael hurley a year earlier
-
OG mono in honor of your Dylan pickup.
-
@GraemeE good find on the nick cave.. curious on how much u paid for it?
-
Was offer to buy this , apparently is a test pressing.
-
@steelydan I think pricks was $40 and push the sky $35
I was pleasantly stuffed with various dumplings and pork knuckles after our meal so I wasn't as concerned with pricing as I usually am
I also passed on let love in ($70) as well as here to eternity($90) but those are both on my list to own at some point
The record store (crossroads music) is by far my favorite in Portland but it's 20 different sellers so there is no real organization.....you just have to block out at least a few hours and see what you come up with
-
Coincidentally my wife and me had dimsum yesterday too . . Happy spinning on your new buy ..
-
@steelydan if someone started a business where they bring the small containers of food in carts first and then when you are done eating the wait staff brought carts of records for sale I would be financially fucked....my post dim sum will power is weak
