Thanks all for chiming in! So seems like there’s only one way to find out

I purchased these Wesco Custom Chukka boots via the forum a few years back but haven't really worn them so, as a result, they have been for sale on both the forum and eBay. Today I added three eyelets either side and the resulting boots have a new look and feel! I'm no longer selling them. Incredible what a simple addition can do to the look and feel of a Wesco boot!

They look great!

@den1mhead amazing what a pair of laces can do mate! I had not been wearing my custom Wescos much but @Ross hooked me up with a pair of Pisgah laces, and I've been wearing them so much more. Way easier to lace than the rawhides and they don't come undone.

Hi AJ, thanks for the Pisgah Laces link, I will be purchasing a few pairs from their website.

Looking to get a custom pair of mister lou's made and wanting a set a brown'ish ones to complement the black maryams.
Chris sent me home with a couple of samples of Toscanello and Natural CXL to ponder. Anyone have a pair of boots with this leather have any thoughts or opinions of either? Any possible patina/age shots to share? Experience with keeping them looking good, conditioning, dealing with scratches or whatever? Also somewhat considering their British Tan Domaine like the 7500's but in a Mister Lou. -
Has anybody here polished their buckles on their Boss/Mister Lou yet? Wesco Sentayga posted on instagram their version of polishing and I was wondering if anybody here has done it before?

I'm sure everyone was on the edge of their seat wondering if a decision was made. I decided against the toscanello due to the shininess and was on-board with Natural CXL since it looked like it would age pretty close to the toscanello's underlying brown. However, I came across pictures of natural veg tanned horsehide mister lou on standard/strange. Chris didnt have any right now but is going to source some for me during the wait time. Will follow up in ~1.5years with hopefully a rad pair of boots on my feet.

@pechelman oh man! That wait time just gets longer and longer. It will be worth it though. Got mine about a year ago and the wait was like 9 months. Slid em on my feet and it was worth every minute!! Love to see that natural veg tan leather!! My Natty CXL Lofgrens are looking better by the west though as well. I just love that leather!!
-
@Mizmazzle it's definitely longer than when I got my last pair too, but in no hurry this go around. I've got a pair of natty cxl's from Nick's but they never really patina'd like I was expecting, but maybe i also dont wear them enough.
-
@Dmart Wow, quite a bit longer than the 12-15 month lead time that I was told in an email a few months ago. I've been waiting a year for a pair of Mr. Lous, guess it'll be another year.
-
sounds like we’re all in the same boat.
I’ve got some black horsehide Jobmasters in process that I ordered in Feb. ‘22 through Baker Boots.
Still waitin’ (and it’s a good thing I didn’t hold my breath!)
Back in ‘22, Wesco was quoting lead times ranging from 12-16 months, but they’re closer to about 24 now.
I know it’ll be worth it, but golly, we’re talking closer to two years!
-
Exactly, @Dmart. I'm a PNW boot guy through and through, regardless, but one of the allures was that you'd not have to wait that long. Even White's are pushing into that 16-18-month timeframe for customs.
Oh well. As the saying goes, "all's well that ends well."

Hey everyone. I’m sure this has been answered many times over in this thread, but curious about sizing.
I’m a 9 in red wings and in my Lofgren engineers. Do have a pair of custom morrisons but not sure the exact size number due to custom nature.I’m looking at some Boss engineers from IH Germany. Curious if I’d also be a 9 in those?
-
I have Iron Rangers in 12 and Lous in 12, and they fit the same length wise, pretty much. The Lous might feel a tad longer. They've always felt pretty tight along the top of my foot, but I do have a pretty high instep. I remedied it by just taking out the insole Wesco provides, which frankly isn't much to speak of — just a few millimeters tops.

@popvulture thanks brother man! I’ve got a fairly narrow, flat, low volume foot.
Trying to plant the seed with the Mrs. That these would make a great Xmas gift.
