IH-555SBR-14 - 14oz Broken Twill Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
@Autorotate these are coming soon, and I'm gonna get a pair instead of the standard 14oz! I'll let you know how breathable they are. I think slub is generally the winner in breathability terms tho

my guess is it actually weighs more than our standard RHT 14oz....Is there a way to weigh the denim when it arrives to test this?
-
Great idea @Oaktavia I'll take it further - it would be interesting to see the weight of one pair compared between different fabrics but the same size and cut - maybe a 634 32 waist, and give total weight unhemmed of as many versions as possible to compare? @Giles @Alex this might be a fun way to show how IH products are unique, could even compare to a high street pair of jeans as a starting point? Understanding ounces per yard takes quite a bit of experience with different fabrics but once you know it is significant. I think it could help new customers understand the unique heft and soft wearability of IH.

I am interested!

The right leg has started to twist on mine after about a week. I thought being broken twill that wouldn't happen. I haven't washed them yet. Should I expect this?

@AdamJ said in IH-555SBR-14 - 14oz Broken Twill Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans - Indigo:
The process of weaving fabric in this method sees the combination of both right hand twill (RHT) and left hand twill (LHT) reversed every two warp ends, forming a zigzag-like pattern in the denim and resulting in no bias in either direction of the weave, therefore eliminating leg twist.
@goldstone0 The product description indicates this should not happen. Have any photos that you could share?
-
These are my current wear... loving them so far. I gave them an initial soak in the tub and noticed the fabric didn't soak easy. I had to force them under water to soak. So that might answer questions on how breathable they are. They are very comfortable right out of the box! I think very slow to give up indigo.
-
@goosehd Sorry, I just saw your reply. Here is a photo sat down (twisting is more pronounced sitting than standing).
-
Multiple washes including after I sat in chocolate milk.

Looking good, man. I have these in the 888 and I love them. As it warms up here they’ll be in my regular workwear rotation. Good stuff.

Just picked up a pair of these to replace my 777’s as too low for my small butt! Tried the 31” in rh twill and was an inch+ away from getting them done up yet these in 31” fit like a dream. Ended up with a broken twill in 666 cut indigo od 32” as could get the 555’s on! Awesome service at Gosport yet again

What should I expect in terms of shrinkage on this denim? I have a new pair and was wondering if a hot soak might tighten them up slightly?
-
@Kathrynnaomi Sanforized and one-washed - little to no shrinkage to be expected.
You can find the information here: IH-555SBR-14 under the details tab.
-
@goosehd thanks.
-
@goldstone0 I have had exactly the same thing after a week on the right leg identical to yours. When i lay them flat though it has gone.
-
@Gavin666 mine are straight now they are worn in.
