IH-888N - 17oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Natural Indigo
Our medium/high rise relaxed tapered cut, constructed from 17oz natural indigo/organic cotton selvedge denim. Initially, this denim will be very reluctant to give up its indigo and takes a long time to start fading. However, once fade patterns do start to develop, they will do so with lots of contrast.

Just ordered a pair...this will be my first pair of IH jeans. Ordered a shirt and a pair of the ripstop cargos and was blown away by the quality and customer service. The shirt was just stunning in both looks and quality. The cargos were fantastic but my dumb ass got so excited when ordering that I forgot to add the hemming service...lol CS said no problem and sent me a return label and are currently hemming them for me. Kudos...you now have a customer for life.
I've been hesitant to order a pair of jeans because I'm in my mid 50's and I'm a school teacher. So breaking these in will be a bizarre experience for me. I also think the 17oz is a great option because the 21oz will just be too heavy for my lifestyle.

welcome @edgarallanpoe ! great choice for your first jeans

@edgarallanpoe congrats and welcome to the addiction, er, hobby.
I’m also a teacher. 5th grade myself. Don’t be too put off by the 21oz weight. It breaks in so quick and gets soft fast. I wear my 25oz jeans everyday to work and they are the absolute best!! You’re gonna love these 17oz beauties for sure. I love the 888 cut!

That's good to know. If I'm happy with these 17oz, I'll more than likely get the 21oz. I have a pair of 18oz from Pure Blue Japan but they are a really heavy slub denim so not really the same thing. I love them though so wanted to get a nice pair of traditional heavier denim. I have a couple pairs of 14oz SOSO Brothers custom jeans that I really like and are nice and broken in. You're probably going to laugh at me but my favorite pair of jeans are a really old pair of selvedge denim from The GAP. Once upon a time (many moons ago to be sure) they actually made a quality product.

I had a pair of them too, they were amazing, better than 501's of the same vintage.....

I worked at the Gap through college. They didn’t sell selvedge at my store, not sure they were doing it in the 90s, but my Gap jeans weren’t bad at all back then. I bought a Beastie Boys tee there a month ago and had to return it cuz the fit was awful and the sleeve hem came undone immediately.

Oh for sure...they make garbage now. My pair is at least 20 yrs old. Selvedge denim...Japan I believe...and chain stitched.

Got them last week and have them on right now. I'm absolutely in love with them. They have a little more room in the thigh than I anticipated but that is a good thing for me. The 21oz 888's are definitely on my radar now. lol I'm hoping for a restock before Christmas.

Looking good @Deonte1719 I’m trying to live vicariously through everyone here. Definitely want to pick a pair of these up way down the line. The 18oz will be my first stop on my way down from the heavyweights. Keep posting your progress man. Congrats on the weight loss.

@Deonte1719 I find that a collection of well fitted clothes is the best inspiration to maintain a healthy body weight over the years... at least that's what I tell myself when I'm trying to justify new purchases!

@T4920 your thought process is the exact same as mine. Even down to the guilty pleasure of losing weight but collecting expensive pieces to justify it!
