@michael-b I think there’s quite a few of us one step away from being bachelors again
-
@Ross Can't take my eyessss offf a youuu.... you're too good to be true....
-
@Daniel-San Dude - impressive as hell! How long have you been playing with the life and death of this thing?
-
@michael-b Sick fit! Bang on - right in the bull's eye, amigo!
-
Adding onto the wardrobe selfies, arrived right on time for Aussie summer… love this jacket already.
-
I currently wear a IH-526PJ marked 46 not XL or XXL . So what size IH-526J would be the same? I'm thinking XXXL. Probably should just measure mine and compare. Does anyone know when IH stopped using numbers for sizing?
-
Yessir, this is a damned gem. 5’11”, 193 lbs, usually XL, XXL here - with embellishment
-
@indigostiff sick fit holmes!!
-
I just received mine in Size 40...I really love the non-modified pattern. This one is definitely the "stiffest" of my three IH Type IIIs out of the box. My 19oz Lefty is over-dyed which softens it quite a bit and my 16oz Slub has a less rigid hand feel. Any advantage to soaking this one right off the bat?
-
@SaddleSC sorry more rigid? Certainly the 16oz slubby but infinitely less than the 19oz, in my opinion of course, it is extremely soft and comfortable, I soaked it in hot water to try to reduce the width of the arms a little and fix the folds (I found it very difficult to do so without soaking). Congratulations, excellent choice my friend
-
I also found it to be quite soft and "comfortable". (I love stiff feeling denim as well though, there's something comforting/secure about rigid clothing I find).
Really dig the 526J. Overall I prefer the classic shorter length. Compared to the 526L and 526Lod it feels much lighter to me. Part of it is the lack of handwarmer pockets and all that extra material, which adds to the stiffer/warmer feel of the leftys in combination with the fabric itself. The 526J feels airy and breathable in my experience. It's very much relative though, like if you've been wearing XHS for several weeks switching to the 14oz feels like wearing a pyjamas. Whereas if you're coming from lightweight stretch denim the 14oz will feel like a beast.
As for the fold creases I used a spray bottle, with more of a fine mist of water, right on the fold lines and then sort of massaged them out. Worked out great and I've done it successfully with other items as well. Sometimes a full soak is needed though.
EDIT: The 526Lod does have a very luxurious, plush, round feel to it that the 526J doesn't have, so I can definitely see where @SaddleSC is coming from. The 526J is crisper initially.

I wore my 526J last night again, and just love that it lacks the handwarmer pockets - for fit and sleekness. I also love the weight of the jacket, as well as how the shoulder cut matched just perfectly with the sleeve length. To get something that fits so perfectly is a rarity, and I'm glad I've found it.
-
@JunkPants I agree 100%...what I really notice is how much more streamlined and less bulky the unmodified version is. You don't realize how much volume and weight is created by the pocket bags until you handle this version...love it so far!
-
@SaddleSC Very true! I wish IH made more classic/unmodified type IIIs, but it seems like most people prefer the modified versions. And they are excellent, best in class, no doubt.
(Not to mention I already have so many denim jackets that it's getting a bit ridiculous really, so I'm not sure how many more I have room or need for . FedEx actually dropped off a denim jacket from a different brand just a few hours ago......)
There are some cool IH type I and type II jackets coming as well, no handwarmer pockets on those.
-
@JunkPants Agreed...I am in the same boat...I had a Brave Star Gauntlet 22oz Ironside Type III dropped off today also...it is a gift for a family member but definitely didn't stop me from "inspecting" it and perhaps trying it on:)

@SaddleSC Nice, always soothing to know there are others out there in a similar predicament
