Ok fellas. It’s me…again…I’m just thinking my jacket is too small for my personal preference. Might pull the trigger on a new size medium. I’m wondering…I’m a size large in every IH top I own. Curious what size my fellow size Larges bought on this latest run on the lefty? Seems a medium would be best…but I don’t want to end up right back in the same position I’m in now.

I'm usually an XL in Western uhfs and L in work shirt cuts, all the tshirts, thermals, and hoodies. I took an XL in the 14oz ib type 3 which works perfect for me with or without a hoodie under and ended up with a medium in the most recent run of lefties. The large I started with was a little cavernous. I'm 5'10 and 170-175lbs if that helps.

I sized down one from my normal size in the indigo lefty. I feel like they definitely run a bit big; my OD lefty is an XL and actually fits a little snugger than the indigo in L.
L would be too big on you, I’d imagine — from what I’ve noticed over time it seems like you’re generally one down from me.
And for ref I’m 6’2”, usually 195-200lbs. I can button up the L with no problem and could definitely wear a hefty shirt under it.

@pechelman @popvulture thanks homies!! That’s the advice / expertise I was looking for. I think the larger even after shrink would be way too big too.

You're welcome @Mizmazzle
If you're curious, there's a comparison photo set above somewhere between the large and medium before I returned the large sometime around July. Definitely glad I kept the med as it's just barely big enough to do up a few buttons over a hoodie. -
@Mizmazzle
I‘m an XL in UHFs and most shirts and an L in thermal tops, t-shirts and zip hoodies. After checking with the crew I went for an XL in my lefty. I first thought that it would be to big but after an initial soak it fits just great. Glad that I listened to the advice givien by the IH-crew. -
@pechelman yeah man. I’ve read your posts. They’ve been super helpful. Def appreciate all your documentation. I’m really hoping I can get the length to land right around 26”. Seems any water that touches this fabric seems to get the same shrink results…regardless of temp or agitation. I’ve tried to read everyone’s results.

@AtariHunter interesting. So essentially your standard size in shirts is what you took in the lefty? My normal L seems so big by the measurements. Did you get more than an inch of shrink in length and sleeve?

Yes, exactly. Or more precisely: I went with my standard UHF size. Sizes vary for me when it comes to other IH-shirts. For instance I wear an L in my IHSH-292-IND and my IHSH-07-IND but an XL in my IHSH-361-BLK, my IHSH-321-OD and my IHSH-366-IND.
I would suggest that you contact the IH crew via e-mail and ask them for advice. I for one am glad that I did this. Without it, I would have gone for a size L, which would probably have been too small, especially for layering.
Unfortunately I didn‘t take the before and after soak measurements. But I went for a hot soak (about 45 degree Celsius) and the jacket shrank quite a bit. It was huge befor soaking and fits just perfect now.
