@Smiladon
We will have to tell each other how good we look in our new coats! -
I mean that’s what this place is for, right
-
@Johnnyutah247 In our extreme studies in the Arctic we found it incredibly wind resistant and a different warm to the Almighty N1. Except for the collar. So if you've got a long neck like me, slap a scarf on and you'll thrive in the cold. It is super easy to move around in, feels slightly lighter than the N1, slips on an off with zest, has great weight and pushes away all the nasties of the weather. And it looks incredible.
-
@denim-dawg excellent reply man. I was wondering if I could justify the purchase with having just got the n1 last year. I think I’m going to pick it up.
It seems to fit about a size larger? In an XL in flannels and the n1.
-
@denim-dawg if I hadn‘t ordered one already, I would now after that endorsement
-
Just got mine in today and it’s absolutely incredible.
I had a McCoy N-1 and just didn’t love the fit. Sold it over the weekend and then I saw this pop up and with the measurements had to try it. And it’s perfect. I have room to move around which is something I need in a jacket. I don’t like when jackets are too fitting. Inhavent tried with a hoody yet but I have a feeling I’ll be able to.
-
@hgering27 looks good man! How did you size? I take an XL in the n1. But for this I’m thinking I should size down.
-
@Johnnyutah247 so I went tts to my normal IH, so XXXXL. I may have been able to fit xxxl because of the measures but I need all the shoulder/chest room I can get.
-
@Johnnyutah247 Glad to aid a fellow connoisseur! Impossible to regret having this jacket.
I've worn the N1 and the A2 in large - and agree with you - they both fit, but the N1 is slimmer in large. So perhaps A2 is a whole size larger... after all it is A 2, N(ot) a 1... hahaha
-
Just grabbed this in a L from Iron shop provisions. They were running a 15% off sale. Went down a size from my typical iron heart size and what I wear on the N1 so I’m hoping it works out. I also got the new crazy check brown flannel in XL and the 17 oz. Duck type 3.

Congrats! I was also able to snag one from ISP. I went with the Size Medium. I am typically a Size L in UHFs. I do have an Iron Heart N1 in Size Medium that fits pretty trim so I stuck with Medium on the A2 so I will have a bit more room to layer.
You will love the Crazy Check Brown...mine arrived from Rivet & Hide on Wednesday and it is the UHF of the year IMO. Did you go with the Work Shirt or the Western?
-
@SaddleSC western, which is what I always do. I just prefer them. I love the snaps. I think I’m up to 7 in the collection now.
I hope I sized correctly with the A2. It seems like the IH staff all sized down 1 for it. My N1 is an XL and fits exactly perfect. I wear it over a t shirt and if I want to layer with a UHF, or hoodie ,it’s snug, but still good. The chest, and waist measurements for the A2 seemed to make it seem like it fit a size bigger than the n1. This style of jacket also looks better to me when it’s not oversized.
-
@Johnnyutah247 Very cool! I have the Western also...the snaps and the back yoke, combined with the trimmer fit is what I love about it!
As far as the sizing...I almost always go with Medium in IH jackets, I have the N1s and also an M65 that fits perfect. I was worried that if I were to size down to Small, based on the measurements, it would get a bit restrictive in the shoulder/arm openings and sleeves at the elbow.
It is really a crap shoot when you cannot try these things on in advance. I will be happy if it has some room to layer, especially because the sleeves are lined with wool, rather than satin:)
I think we will both be happy! You will get the trim style you are looking for and hopefully I will finally have some room to layer a UHF or Loopwheel hoodie under the jacket!

@Smiladon you found the absolute perfect fit. I would love to have one that fits that way on me. Can't decide which fabric though. Whipcord or the serge, decisions decisions.
