@SaddleSC I really like the waxed canvas. Very different type of jacket than your typical waxed canvas jacket so has a really cool vibe to it.
I also ordered their Pearl white one cause I thought it looked cool. Believe that was a melton wool version. Also pretty cool. The white was too dangerous for my wife’s preference. Between the two I preferred the waxed version with a good amount of certainty.
Thanks again for all the great info...one more random question, if you don't mind...if I remember correctly you own the Freenote RJ2 shearling denim jacket. How do you like it? Not sure it would be as versatile as my IH N1 jackets, but it sure looks amazing and I cannot seem to get it out of my mind:)
The price is a bit hard to swallow on the RJ2 but I own their RJ1 waxed jacket in Tobacco and Tumbleweed and love the overall fit and aesthetic...

I have a few pieces from Dehen and love them all. Very solid - heavy duty old school truth, as they like to say….
Just got my paws on this knit down vest, it’s even more awesome than I had hoped. Beautiful. -

@SaddleSC oh man!! That freenote RJ2 shearling is my favorite jacket of all time. I’m counting the days until it’s cold enough to wear it again. Absolute masterpiece.
Wow, that is quite an endorsement! I think you have pushed me over the edge...this morning I used the 20% Black Friday code to buy the RJ-2 directly from Freenote...I will keep you posted when it arrives...I went with the Size M...fingers crossed!

@SaddleSC oh dude!! You’re in for a treat!! I’m a size L in every IH top I own and I went size medium on mine. Perfect fit. Can’t wait to see it. You go indigo or black? They have those new waxed canvas ones too. Tried one on at Berkeley Supply and would have bought it on the spot if I didn’t have the denim one already.

Thanks for enabling me! I am super excited...sounds like the Medium will be perfect...I wear Size L in UHF Westerns and Work Shirts. My N1 Deck Jacket and M65 are Medium. The waxed canvas is amazing too...I went with the Indigo denim...I love the evo on yours so far...hoping for something similar:) I will post pics when it arrives...

Lads I'm considering buying Shawl Sweater Coat 2.0 (https://dehen1920.com/products/shawl-sweater-coat-2-darknavy?variant=29167588966477) and need your opinion regarding sizing. In Iron Heart I wear M - UHF work shirt, M - N1. And base on the Dehen measurements XS or S seem to be options. I don't want it to be too loose but I want to be able to have a thick henley +UHF underneath.

I wear a size large UHF and have the Dehen classic cardigan in a size medium. I can wear it over a UHF but really love wearing it over my 13oz Wabby.
So sizing down from M to S? right?
-
I’m also a large in most my IH pieces and medium in Dehen - so one size down
-
@Karol not to scramble your head any but I own the shawl cardigan in a size small, in between M and L for UHF western, and can wear a henley underneath comfortably but feel a bit of a stuffed sausage w a UHF under. I do find myself wishing I sized up to a medium these days to wear with more layers.
-
@flannel-slut good insight, but since the Dehan measurements indicated XS-S, I feel that going S might still be the way. I feel that I could manage M in IH UHF western if I only dropped few kg from the waist.
-
@Karol if you fit comfortably in a UHF medium then you'll be good in a small for the shawl collar -I float between both M and L for the UHF and am awful at second guessing if I went with the right size w most purchases
-
@flannel-slut how itchy is the shawl? Thanks
-
@Jay406 it is a bit course but the weave is very tight/dense (not a “hairy” sweater) so you’re not getting any scratch from stray yarns. I’ve worn just a tshirt under plenty of times and never once thought it as itchy.
-
@flannel-slut that helps a lot. Thank you
